To the guy with the car wash damage:
Wow, the Admins were ALL OVER THAT thread! It got closed while I was trying to post. Maybe this one will stand a chance... if not Mark/Jason feel free to delete it completely.
Now, to the subject at hand - take rgray's advice and consult a lawyer immediately! You have the right to have the damage fixed where ever you choose and they MUST pay 100%. They will also have to pay for a rental car while your car is being repaired. In addition you could also sue them for punitive damages - this is not a car accident, this is a business that damaged your car through obvious witnessed negligence. I'm sure you're furious. I would be. But get a lawyer before another day goes by (BTW they should have to pay for HIM too) and let the attorney do the talking. Don't let emotion get in the way. Best of luck, and I hope you'll keep us posted on progress and results (I'm amazed how many people post a problem and then never tell us how it ended up). And finally, be aware that certain statements and words are almost guaranteed to offend people. When in doubt, don't use them. That's just kind advice... no judgement implied.

I understand how his comment was taken racially but I don't feel it was why the thread was locked. I think that the thread was locked simply because it went off topic and resulted in an arguement of name calling and vulgar language. If this thread is left alone, let's disregard the comment that was made in the previous thread and focus on the real issue that the thread was about.

I can also see how his comment was taken in a racist way but I don't really think he meant it like that and he did explain himself.
I'm asian and if someone called me a GD riceboy, I wouldn't care... hell I think that's kinda funny but you do have all kinds of sensitive ppl everywhere and its better to be safe than sorry.... he's going off the deep end in his other thread... he's obviously extremely pissed. Regardless, it sucks his car got jacked by any GD human being. I would definitely get a lawyer. |

Yeah, if I had seen the tantrum thread I wouldn't have started this one. Most everyone knows that I can have a temper tantrum with the best of them - but let's not attack the forum as a whole or the admins!
I'm sorry this guy had this happen to him, and I understand how he feels, but I think he is proving unworthy of our support, advice, or attention. I think he should be booted.

I'll be the first to say that too many people are way too sensitive. I think people get up in the morning looking for something to be offended by - and I think that has cost our society dearly... sometimes we need to just let it go.
What is the world coming to when I'm not the one being the jackass?? I think we're in the twighlight zone.

What Coupe said in his first thread was inappropriate for a public forum. I think it's important to say that. I don't expect everyone to see the world as I do and that's what makes life interesting ... diversity and different points of view. For the record Ledzep I think your advice earlier in this thread to Coupe was very good advice to anyone ... be aware that certain statements and words are almost guaranteed to offend people. When in doubt, don't use them. |

Exactly. My point was that even though you and I may disagree whether certain phrases should be so upsetting, shame on me for using them if I think it will be. The other point was that sometimes it's better to just roll your eyes and move on (can't believe I'm saying that)... that whole "two wrongs.... " thing.
