Will this work - pre-lci angel eye DRL, no sidemarkers

1 - Code out parking lights
2- Code for euro DRL
3 - Remove interior halogen bulbs
4 - Code out interior halogen bulb check
5 - Code high beam flash to pass

Any reason this shouldn't work?

I'm a 5/06 build date 330xi.

side note: I know I can get a DAEOS and I know I can code out sidemarkers and turn to parking lights. I'd rather not wiretap, when I can code (?), and I'd rather not leave my parking lights on one day and kill my battery.

Why would you remove the interior bulbs? don`t even think there are bulbchecks on those, not in my car at least (also 05/06)
As far as I can see, you basically want eurostyle lights?
On my car 1, 2 and 5 is possible (euro )

Edit: by sidemarkers I assume you mean the orange light in the turnsignals?

Looking to run just the AEs as DRLs. On my '06, the choices for DRL are either (1) interior halogens, or (2) code for Euro DRL which gives me the AEs and internal halogens.

I'm not sure what the euro lighting options are. What I want is just AEs for DRL, no other lights.

I do. But now that I think about it, they aren't on with DRL. So this isn't necessary unless I'm choosing to use the parking light option.

If you're right though that there is no bulb check on the halogens, then that solves my issues.

You can't do number 2 (code for euro DRL) unless you upgrade your FRM to newer FRM2/FRM3

When I code for the euro dr option using BMWhat, it turns on the AE and the H7, which is why I'm wondering if I can remove the H7 and either code out the bulb check, or as was suggested, there isn't a bulb check. I'll have an answer later this week and I'll report back.

My mistake, by interior bulbs you mean the inner h7 light on the headlight? I thought u meant the interiorlights inside the car :P
All lights on the outside have bulb check.

Yeah, I was just out playing around and saw that I have a low beam malfunction with my headlights out...is there an FRM value to code to eliminate the bulb check on the H7? I don't think that there's an option on BMWhat.

To code for DRLs.. You'll need to change the FRM module. NFRM (FRM2) I believe they are direct swap but still need the module coded to the car first. may have to switch a few pins as well for it to work properly.

Yes, I understand that that's a possibility, but the point of the OP is that I'm looking for alternative ways to get there using the current FRM - not using an updated FRM, not usung DAEOS, not using parking lights position on the light switch...

If there are bulb checks, it is possible to code it out using NCS. Can`t remember the values, but it`s there.
I`ve never tested bmwhat, but as far as I`ve heard it`s very limited in coding.

I'd agree that it's limited, but it also will code most all of the basic desired features (and now does battery registering), will read and clear all codes, will engine log, and is very, very simple to use.

Hoping to have my headlights back today and to be able to play with them and the coding tomorrow.

I'm not sure if your asking this but.....you can code out "SIDEMARKER_US" (Amber bulb) and the "SL_V......." (Amber LED in corner) by making the line say "nicht_aktiv" instead of "Aktiv". The bulb will still work as a blinker or 4way but will not be on for daytime running/parking/auto settings. It's the "corner delete". You don't need to update the FRM module at all, just code.

Thanks, I understand that, and have done that, albeit using BMWhat.

What I had wanted to do was code DRLs to allow both AEs and the H7s and then remove the H7s and code out the bulb check. I was mistaken though, in that I can't - at least with BMWhat - code the DRLs to use the AEs, even with the H7s.

In the end, I think I need to use the DAEOS or the parking lights position.

Daeos works fine. And if you get an errorcode you can use bmwhat to code out the error from the angel eyes. I did that and works fine now.

My problem is the dimmed indicator only are on with lights on, not at contact on.

I thought us cars had them on all the time?
