Hi Anneka, what's the costs and how does it compare to a TomTom in terms of support/functionality?

EDIT:

Are you around later? Was going to pop by to pick up my order...

Well, the TMC traffic detection is built in FOC (all you have to do is agree to the T&C's when you set up), Bluetooth is built in so you can take your calls (a bonus if you have no nav and no b/t in the car), the audio instructions are output via the loudspeaker system instead of via the unit itself (so it can actually be heard) and it looks really great too.

More expensive than the Tom Tom I'll admit, but it's a different product, it does take some installation but we're just about to introduce a discounted "@point of sales price" for the used car sales team, £599 all inc to the customer, this includes the maps too.

And, I am about

It seems expensive to us but I can see average joe might buy. I'm sure it's going to be a good neogiation point when buying a car without nav/bluetooth. Some other forum members have bought this already I recall.

What maps does it come with?

Thanks for posting the photos though £599 is quite a lot!!!!

Does it have "Safety Camera" warnings?

What does it look like when the sat-nav is not in place

It's only £350 too expensive.

Typical BMW. However plenty of people will pay for it.

What clown paid £599 for that, iPhone with tom tom app would be about the same price over a 24 month contract and you get to use it as a phone.

How much for the bit of plastic that holds the gold bar??

No offence to the op who does some good work on here but that just looks like any aftermarket sat nav plonked on the dash.

How dare you! How very dare you!

It has a BMW logo on the box and I think the mount has BMW stamped on it! Any old aftermarket unit? Honestly some people.

Thanks for the pics of the install so we see a real life image not a marketing image...but for £599 I would buy an Iphone and tom tom app or equivalent and there are lots of non damage dashboard clips for them. Much more useful.

I hate to agree with everyone here Anneka but this is a tough one to market imho!

A £30 kensington liquidAUX set will mean the iPhone audio output can be heard through the car speakers whenever the HU is set to AUX: And you could actually get an iPhone 4G for 18 months, plus the audio link up, plus a dash mount - cheaper than this unit?

OK so there will be one wire. But frankly even stealth installed like in the pics it still just looks like an aftermarket unit!

I agree that it'll still sell. But not to the kind of person who's online on here I'd say..

PLUS I guess a small hole has been drilled in the dash to hide the wiring? Does that mean you will replace the dash when the client wants to sell their car?

Frankly I'd not buy a car with a hole right in the middle of the dashboard..

Please correct me if I'm wrong I just don't see any other way for you to have hidden the wiring
