Porsche Cayenne 2013
Yesterday I was out helping a friend search for a previous shape used Porsche Cayenne. I have previously now liked the Porsche Cayenne due to the design and lack of interior space
One thing led to another and we saw some current examples. Long term I am thinking of replacing our 2011 Range Rover Sport anyway as there will be a new model Sport due tail end of 2013 or 2014. I have seen a few current model Cayenne's with the Porsche aero kit which I like the look of. I am now tempted to order a new Cayenne GTS which comes with a lot of kit standard such as aero kit, lowered suspension, larger wheels etc etc Looking for opinions. Has anyone any experience of the current Cayenne? Is it a good time to buy one of these. I believe the current shape has been available for two years and I wonder when/if they are facelifting it. |

Hi
I was looking at the cayenne and its a really nice bit of kit. The drive and handle really well and spec'd right they can look awesome. Main problem for me is they still feel a little behind BMW in terms of technology and I really don't think the interior is a nice as BMW or Audi. There is no discount to be had on the cayenne and you will be waiting a minimum of 12 weeks more like 16 for the diesel with the way they are at mo. They hold their money better than any other SUV as long as you go for the diesel, the petrol ones can lose silly amounts. I get family prices at Porsche which is around 15% off and I still bought the x6. For me the BMW drives as good, has a better interior and tech plus the deals at BMW were even better.. If you are interested let me know and I can put you in touch with someone at reading who will look after you Scott

Hi Scott. Appreciate your guidance. Good to hear they drive well. I saw a Meteor Grey GTS with 21" Turbo wheels, monochrome exterior pack and some espresso/beige interior...looked immense.
I will have a think about what I want to do and will give you shout nearer to the time for an introduction. It would appear waiting for an updated Cayenne would make better sense, since I'm wanting to replace the RRS for similar reasons. |

I saw a gts the other day and they are awesome but be warned they drink fuel and will not hold their money like the diesel..
It sucks when a new model comes out when you have just bought one, I did it with the 911 and everyone asks oh you got the new one and I have to say no. |

When did the facelift occur on the Cayenne? I have seen some with the LED strip lights on the rear roof spoiler and different front lights which look much better than the original model which to me looks like a 911 on stilts. The facelift looks much more resolved. Wouldn't buy a new one but could be tempted by a used one for family wagon duties.

Cayenne
The interior is sick, but still think you need to add some bigger rims to make the cayenne stand out
My old mans one.. picked it up few months back, lots of pork in his garage now

The new shape cayenne was released a couple of years back, this brought it in to line with the panamera. Face lift is due 2013 maybe early 2014, the panamera is first and the cayenne will follow.
Those pictures of the cayenne are awesome, looks really really good..., |

Cayeene is one of the best out there for depreciation even from new.. Just because you buy new doesn't always mean you get bad depreciation, I was looking at used X6's at £35k which were 2.5/3 years old yet I got a new one with better spec for £45K. I can cope with £10/12K over 3 years.

Porsche have come leaps and bounds since I bought my pitiful Cayenne (not S or turbo, just plain) new in 2002...it was a disastrous purchase and I lost gazillions after a years ownership.
That was then..Now, I would if in the market for another bus after x5 definitely look at a Porker again. I test drove the Cayenne D recently and even though not overly impressed with its power delivery compared to the BMW, it wouldn't put me off. This is the present model...so how the next gen will be I'm sure will be good 'un.

Scott - what you're saying about the fuel consumption is valid but then this is going to replace a 5.0 RRS.
Xenon - the V8 diesel genuinely sounds exciting, but I still can't see us going for a diesel version. So I've been getting excited having seen some seriously cool Cayenne's but I'm going to try holding off until they start booking the facelift. Gizze - that's the same combination I have in mind bar the wood. I have seen this interior in person with wood and it does look stunning. Marlie - the Cayenne looks fantastic. Does your's have the air suspension / pdcc or panoramic sunroof? Tiko - I agree with you, the Cayenne has come a long way since the 1st generation. I would still urge anyone to stay away from the V6 version. |

I've seen two of these now in Toronto. One on Bayview Ave last week and today near where I work. Talked to the owner today and he said he just came from the ML bluetec and totally prefers it over the Porsche.
