How to start coding?
Hi Guys,
I want to do some work on the side and start coding BMW's. I just need some guidance on what device I need, cables, software, etc. Does anyone have more information about this or where I could learn more about coding? I don't just want to code BMW's but anything that is possible to code. Please advise. Thanks in advance guys. |

Second, you're need the software and a laptop that's compatible with the software (any OS that's x86). There's a thread somewhere on here that has a step by step process on how to setup the drivers and get the program going. If you search "coding your car for free" it should pop up. Follow the instructions closely and you'll be up and running in no time! There's a ton of threads on here that show people how to code. Once you do the setup, everything else is easy. The process is the same all the time: select a module, read that specific module, open up the notepad file, edit what you want to edit, and write that file to that specific module. It might seem confusing but it's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. If you need any help just PM me brotha. Good luck!

No worries brotha. Yeah you'll be using NCS Expert to do the actual coding. Make sure you update your DATEN files. Im pretty sure you can brick a module if coded with older DATEN files....not fully sure though.
