You have datalogging capability so it's easy to do 50-120mph tests (closed track of course) and compare the times between different maps.

Thanks Shiv I was thinking it might be,, I'll just stick to stage 2 and leave it at that
cheers

Edit: Can you have button 1 as a stage 2 map and button 2 as a stage 3 map?
I do no think so right ?

I agree. This is my favorite map to date and IMO the smoothest map since 2/19. I've only driven the new map (Stage 1) for about 60 miles, but the first thing I noticed was how the boost is immediate between shifts, especially those which land in the lower RPM ranges. I was getting some mild hesitation with the older CANbus maps, but it is now completely gone. When cruising and then mashing the throttle, it feels like the boost kicks in slightly quicker, but I'll have to check out the logs to confirm.

I'll be doing some logging this week, and then heading back to the dyno on the 13th to do a comparo for 2/19 vs 5/29.

I don't think you can... I just uploaded the stage 2 map but adjusted the UT to 75 and 80... you can definitely feel the difference when switching to map 2.

Bump for the question Shiv.

The stock DV's crack on a 4 psi differential don't they?

Question for Shiv: Is that within normal range for a boost drop between shifts? I am wondering if I might still have a problem with my DV's perhaps?
Totally normal. Much of that drop is caused by the upshift softening setting. The default value is 5. If you set it to 0, you will see less boost drop. But it will never go away completely because there is a point during the upshift process were the throttle closes and/or valve phase shifts.

Thanks...

I forgot about that setting - I believe I have it set to 10, so that explains the larger softening (boost drop) value.

DOH!

Wink just a quick note

These new maps were supposed to be map1=map2, it's pretty clear once you download them.
But as a matter of fact it's not like that: right after I updated the firmware I loaded the Stage 3 map.
Well, map 1 looked ok (max boost 16psi, UT 85%, etc).
Map 2 looked like a race map: max boost 20psi, UT 100%.
I set map 2 values down to map 1 values though map 1 is on by default after start up.
Of course I am currently running map 1

Ciao

oh yeah... 10 will easily cause the drop you are seeing. Set it to the default of 5 and you will only see a 1-2psi drop. You can set it to 0 (as it is in the 6MT versions of the maps) and it will drop even less boosts (if any). But its tougher on the transmission.

20 PSI? for map 2?? are you sure? I thought the general consensus was that around 16psi would be best overall?

Oops... thanks for catching that. I just fixed it. Looks like it only applied to the Stg 3 6AT map. All I did was drop UT from 100% to 85%. I also dropped overboost limit to 16psi.

If you ran this map by accident, no big deal. It was still the pump gas map (ie, it had ignition retard). But it ran ~16psi instead of ~15psi. Not ideal but not the end of the world.

That is just the overboost limit. NOT the boost level.

Will the upshift shoftening work for the MT maps? Its so hot here, I would like to see a small drop in boost at high rpms.

There is no difference in wastegate control/lagfix with the new maps. In fact, that hasn't changed since last year. Maybe try disabling lagfix as it will put the wastegate flappers into a different static position. If that doesn't work, take it to the dealership and get the recall/fix done.

Shiv, I've been getting these 2 codes...10887 and 12544. I even re-installed back my stock DV, as I thought I had boost leak with the Forge DV, but I still got the same codes under normal cruising.

The 10887 (2A87 in hex) is a Vanos control problem. The other one is just boost deactivation caused by the Vanos problem. Simple fix. Take it to the dealership and they will fix it. It's a recall/service bulletin. Unrelated to the tune. But easy to diagnose with the new CANbus goodies

I just updated the code list to include that one. It can be downloaded from this post.
