What's with people saying "don't install the clamps when you take it to a shop...they will leak."

Someone feed me in on this.

I have the perf echaust for about 18 months now and love it! The sound is that noticeable in the car but it is actually pretty loud from outside the car. Cant really tell any difference about the power output tho.

The only leak I had was at the cat, right under driver seat but that was from driving a lot during winter deep snow...

Xi has nothing to do with it. I am happily running a BMW PE.

BUT if it's a 328i and it's for the wife, why spend the money ?
Well.. She loves BMWs almost as much as I do- and I'll drive her car a bunch when we are together and I hated the fact when I had my 328 it had no sound and the 335 and my dads 135 got her addicted to the exhaust sound

Weld is far better than U-bolts.

I don't understand why people would want to make a slow car sound loud. It's embarrassing to step on the gas, hear a loud muffler then have the car go slower than it sounds.

the PE has been great on my car, it's really not that loud, it's just right. the i6 has such a wonderful sound found in few cars . don't understand why it's so muffled from the factory

Bolt it, of course, Why ruin the whole exhaust when you can do a clean install ? You can weld it at any other time after bolting.

2011 328 xi  [7.26]
Ive had my PE for about 9 months. I enjoy having it on my 328 xi. I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood, i do first of the day cold starts with the garage door shut. but it quiets down within a minute. after that its quiet while driving around. NO drone on the highway. I find its only a noticeable sound when you really get on the throttle, like the above poster said 3500+, which is exactly when i want to hear it... outside of that it behaves nicely and subtly.

in fact after i had it installed, none of my car friends or non car friends even noticed! which i really liked. its a nice change from the ZERO sound the stock one does, but doesnt draw attention or sound trashy like 90% of the other cars out there with cans sticking out the back.

my only beef was the exhaust tips, i found them crude. but new tips from DiMisa fixed that.

def happy with the BMW PE

^^ This

I have it on 335xi...My family can't stand it...but I love it.

I'm not sure its for older adults who like a calmer ride. It is quite loud and it does resonate in the cabin on throttle.

Ie. there is a low rpm bellow on open throttle at 2000 rpm...it turns into a nice high freq engine sound at 3000 rpm.
