Adrian, what is the expected life span of the Vishnu meth kit? ( Rust in kit compnents / car engine components side effects ). If I kept the car for 10yrs would expect to change out anything in its lifespan? (who knows Vishnu may no longer support these in 10yrs so there goes....)

Yes Adrian these numbers look pretty good. I did some work at uni with water injection on an NA 2.0L Toyoata engine. Clearly the addition of meth increases the heat of evaporation (lowering charge temps) which is especially useful on turbo charged systems.

Congrats. Install looks really clean.

What is the price of one of these Meth Kits here in oz ?

The Vishnu kit uses Labonte parts. They are made for this purpose, and would be supported by Labonte if not Vishnu.

Engine wise... at a certain boost level, engine safety would be higher with meth than without. It has a cooling effect on combustion and engine, and would reduce the impact on the engine. I would not expect any rust on any engine parts. The meth/water mix is only injected at high boost when the engine is warm, so the meth/water would immediately evaporate, and never cause any corosion of metals in the engine.

135I install is somewhat custom, but 335 install is much simpler as it comes with a replacement interior trim panel for the rear right boot. Just clip it in and run the plumbing.

Yep, meth lowers charge temps, increases octane, and adds fuel in a car in which the fuel system can be limitting at higher power outputs.

I do Meth kit locally for AU$1150 inc GST delivered locally. Let me know if you want one and I can get one in from Vishnu.

I have read many other forums on meth kits and it seems like the pump is the first thing to go a majority of the time. Some people get 3 years out of one, but I think I will be replacing mine as a maintenance item every 2 years.

Get the meth kit! If I can install it and run the lines with rhino ramps, anyone can do it. Much nicer to have a lift than ramps, but it was not too bad.

That's awesome. I do feel a lot more of a pull when I'm flooring it from a roll with that IC.

Soooo back to the original topic...

Stock + V4 Autotune is 320whp?

Thought it was more than that.

Stock hp is 300, less 18% for AT gets you 246 whp plus 80 whp per Vishnu's site gets you 326 whp. There is a big estimate on the 300hp and the 18% drivetrain loss.

I think it really depends on your settings (agreesion level). I was guessing more close to 350-370 whp.

370whp is quite high and surely stressful w out the supporting mods.

I'd assume in the 330-350whp range w/ all else stock. I would certainly do a FMIC and downpipes on any n54 equipped car I owned. Would make for good power gains as well as a smoother and happier car.

-15% would be more accurate on a mustang dyno. Dynojets would be even less

On a MD mine was 258 hp / 291 tq weather corrected bone stock, it was about 71 out. 2 weeks later, 255 hp/ 290 tq weather corrected stock @ 77 out.

So fairly consistent, and don't forget the 300hp/300tq ratings for the n54 are pretty conservative. The only real way to compare power gains is to look at stock vs modded gains, same dyno, similar conditions. Comparing 2 different motors dynos would only be a rough estimate.

So if this is my daily driver.. and i commute in bumper to bumper traffic everyday.. will the autotune detune my car? Or will it know and still have aggressive maps retained for when I really want all the power?

It wont detune unless you are heat soaking which wont happen in bumper to bumper traffic. Your transmission might get lazy, but there is DS for that .

It only "tunes" when you're at WOT, so daily driving/traffic won't have any effect per say

I really like what your doing with your 335, im trying to go that route also, but money is tight. Keeping the stock muffler keeps it some what a sleeper, but how loud is it with DP

Hi guys,
Been busy working on updates. You guys will like the next firmware release

Just to add to what others have said, the power output will depend on both modifications, testing conditions and octane/fuel quality. On an otherwise stock car running pump gas (93oct), expect around 340-350whp on Dynojet. On race gas, expect around 370-380whp.

For a fully modified car (full exhaust, FMIC, intakes, bypass valves), expect around 390-395whp on pump gas (93oct). On race gas, expect around 425-430whp. Or as high as 430-445 with race gas+methanol.

With trap speeds to support that

Thank you for answering my initial question Shiv

I just bought the V4 in the Group Buy, will ours have the new firmware already on it?

It will have the same 8-17 maps/firmware that is currently available for public download. With full autotuning active (boost, timing, fuel and wastegate comp). Still working on the new updates.

Shiv, you probably been asked this before (and he has way to many posts to read through for a search to work), but what would be your suggested purchase order (exhaust, FMIC, intakes, bypass val, and meth) for the best bank for your buck after a tune?
