getting a helix installed today... i'll let you know how it goes. But from what I gathered... they'll all be MUCH better than stock so you can't really go wrong.

It was $910 for the fmic and cai with free shipping, but I think those outside the U.S. paid a little more for shipping.

I'm also doing this and have found that there is still some trimming to do for proper fitment of the FMIC. Nothing major though ......

I have been really happy with my Helix, especially now that the temps are up here in the SouthEast. There was a little trimming to do when I installed my Helix, maybe due to model and/or build differences- but nothing major.

The new Helix does not require trimming. There was a small redesign to ensure better fit. Everybody on the Helix GB is getting the new version.

the new HELIX version should require no cutting on a 335i! we measured every intercooler and they were all to our design specs...if anyone trimmed or felt they had to trim please PM me pics...it is a very tight fit(on the front and sides) but all the measurements spec out and it should fit right in! I have said this before 2 sets of hands and eyes make install a snap. the intercooler was designed to seal off at the front ducting, the sides and the fan shroud to the rear. its tight like a glove and before any trimming you really need to look at what you are doing and make sure you're not getting caught on anything. in some cases all it takes is another person to pull or push on a duct or shroud for the fmic to slide into position...again PLEASE PM me pics or let meknow where things were tight so I can check my CAD drawings vs an actual intercooler

the intercooler couldn't be bolted in place without trimming a small portion of the plastic. Like toadhollow said, its no big deal. pics of the install were taken by Bavarian X... they should be posted soon. I thought it wouldn't require any trimming either, but I was there watching the whole install and sure enough, some trimming was definitely required. But like i said, no big deal... the intercooler is definitely worth it, the car pulls like it does right as it warms up everytime.

you don't cut the hose... you just cut the clamps and use the hose and clamps that come with the helix
