2011 335xi N55 Water Pump

I picked up a 2011 335xi with 40k miles. Everything has been great for 6k miles until my car went into limp mode on the way to work Friday morning.

Started with the yellow oil coolant temp warning then changed to the red and to shut car off. Shut car off and turned it back on everything is back to normal. This then happened twice on my way home from work. Only code that was showing on my Cobb AP was a P377A which seems to turn on when the fans turn on full blast.

I am fairly convinced it is the water pump. Any one have other thoughts on this before I go bring my car to the shop?

Thanks!

Quick update

I drove about 44 miles today. 15 miles into the trip I went into limp mode. The rest of the ride I drove without the AC on and I did not get the warning or limp mode.
I drove the 22 miles home without the AC on and did not get a warning or limp mode.

It's the waterpump. Don't chance having it overheat again and go into red limp mode again. The next time it may stop working for good and a restart won't get it going again.

Should be replaced sometime this morning.

I am a bit worried though as I saw this last night:

Hopefully this will be a fix for me.

Update:
Got the car back. Shop confirmed it was the water pump. Water pump and thermostat replaced. Fingers crossed this will last me until I get rid of the car!

How much was the labour?
I am curious because I am in the same boat in regards to our cars being identical in age and mileage. I had no clue that E90 waterpumps went out so soon!
So I want to know how much cash should be under my mattress in case...

Total came to $870 with parts, labor and tax (Ma tax is 6.25%). I was originally quoted $360 labor, but the invoice came out to $300.

Wow that is a good price! This is not at the BMW dealership right?

That is correct. I had this done at Turner Motorsport.

Mine went out right around 44K. I couldn't believe it went out with such low miles. I went to the dealership and paid around $989. An Indy had quoted less, but I got a free loaner from the dealership, which I needed to commute to work. Hope the new Pump/Thermostat hope up much longer than the first.
