Custom N52 Quad Exhaust + M3 Rear: Pics & Video
Hey guys,
I've been less than happy with the stock exhaust and couldn't in good conscience go with an AA "exhaust" or fork over $1k for a PE. So, I found a good shop in Washington, DC to fabricate me a custom one. Very happy with the results. We took out the secondary cat and resonator. Used two glasspack mufflers. There was a great deal of pipe bending, welding, and on the fly problem solving but it got done. The biggest hurdle was the storage box in the trunk, they had to do a very significant bend to essentially wrap from the left to the right for the quad tips. Anyhow - enough talking - check this out! Install completed Underneath piping details Video The exhaust is awesome loud between 1-2k RPMs, quiet between 2-3, then loud again. Some backfire/crackling on downshifts, guessing the engine is getting used to the exhaust still. Not a lot of "drone" since I tend to stick between 2-3k RPMs. This thing on startup is very sexy sounding - deep growl. I'll take another video of that soon enough. SCM

I drive a lot of city miles, so I haven't had time to reset my stats and see what they are after putting on this exhaust.
Thanks brother! It is definitely a big change for me, I've found myself upon start up wondering (is that my f$#king car?) and at stoplights wondering who has a beast at the stoplight. The upside is I can now have my car growl at people when I'm irritated in city traffic - I scared someone last night doing exactly that.

The work is great, but IMO the M3 bumper just looks so out of place.
But I'm glad you like it, it came out very well.

My initial feeling is that it is more responsive on the throttle and the middle of the throttle band feels stronger. This is all subjective though.

Probably the lights. I have blacklines en route. The lights throw me off currently.
