jb+ question

Can people who used a jb+ on their cars please give me some feedback. I tried searching and got very limited answers. I own a z4 35i dct, there are barely any people with z4 and jb+ to give any useful opinions. I plan to use it at 50 percent or even less, if that's possible. I'm very happy with the power of this car but a little more torque is always nice. What is the general consensus regarding experiencing codes when using at 50 percent? Any info, personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I ran it on my car for a couple years at 75% Multiple dealer visits and I just removed it before hand. Definitely a nice little bump in power and it will keep you happy for a while. Because it isnt a "full tune" it isnt the healthiest thing in the world but on the other hand it wont run your car outside normal limits it was produced to run at. Given the fact that you can find them for ~$100 in the FS section here, you really couldn't do a better mod for less money in my opinion. At this point I'm in the midst of going full bolt on but I have zero complaints about the JB+.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer. During that time, did you have any codes or issues during those multiple dealer visits.?

None. My original and CPO warranty both happily lived out their days till they expired.

I ran it for about 6months at 50 and 75%. Zero issues or codes and it really transformed the car. I loved it and before switching to cobb and running ethanol. Best bang for your buck mod I have ever seen on any platform.

Awesome, thank you for your input. I hope it will be ok with the dct. Where there any issues on longer drives, example 3 hours of driving with a couple of wot pulls?

I've been running my jb+ at 100% for a couple of months now and the only problem I have encountered is faster fuel consumption.

I had it a while back. Definitely best bang for the buck in HP. I was able to squeeze my hand in and install and remove in 5 minutes.

I've driven cross country with the jb+ in, twice.

I've also got mine for sale for $120 shipped if anybody is looking for one

None.... and I would do more than just a couple WOT runs. Only thing I would say is make sure you change your plugs if the have more than 20-25k miles and be prepared to replace a coilpack or twoas they go. Other than that (which is really just regular maintnance) just plug it in and enjoy.

How many horsepower do you get from a jb+ at 100%? Do you adjust the percentage from a computer? When you unplug it does it go back to stock?

To answer your questions.
About 50-60whp at 100%
You adjust on the unit itself. There is a manual dial.
Yes it goes back to stock.

Do a search. You will find plenty of info on it or go to the bms website.

Once again, thank you for the informative reply. I assumed the spark problems were taken care of for the n54 after 2011, no? My z4 is 2012 but i have 12,000 miles on it, it would be to early for them to be change any right?

Never too early to replace them. But BMW suggest 45k miles so I wouldn't waste the money on new plugs unless you're getting misfires. Goodluck

And you'll definitely enjoy the extra HP the Jb+ will give your car. I had a Jb+ for a few months and i loved it. but wanted more control/features so I went with jb4

Like others have said its definitely the best bang for your buck.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Do you know by any chance if its possible to set it lower then 50%? i would be happy with only an extra 20lb feet of torque to the wheels, the thing cost me less then 150 dollars and i really do not want any hidden codes as it is still under warranty.

You'll need at BT scan tool to be certain there are no "Shadow Codes". I've ran the JB+ and had a BT scan tool and yes at 50% it triggered "Shadow codes" which basically tells the tech that it's been tuned. The BT scan can erase the codes before dealer visits.

+1 or BMS Can tool. I threw codes at 75%. Like others I switched to JB4 after a few months. Both are great for what they are.

No way, even at 50% ??????? from every forum, thread or comment i have read regarding the jb+, i have only heard people mention codes being thrown at 75% or above, never at 50%. thanks for letting me know, this was vital info that i never knew about.
