I find the car as versatile as an M3.

Try driving it everyday! I had a Z06 and it was a great car, but not a DD like an M3. They get hard to live with.

Not regarding the practicability as a DD but regarding the driving experience (Sport / Comfort). It is very different than a Z06 which is a way more radical.

The ZR1 is more comfortable then a Z06, if you can live with a 911 as a DD, I think you could live with a ZR1 (I didn't spend a ton of time driving the ZR1, so I never learned the 'corners' of the car, but I could with minimal effort)

I can only speak on a ZO6. Loved that car so much, but I got tired of it quick as a DD. Especially around town or in traffic. I know a guy that has sick cars and could not live with the z as a DD and sold it for an M3.

IMO a ZR1 or ZO6 is not a good DD. Amazing cars and an amazing experience to drive/own. M3 or 911 based on needs are better all around cars as DD IMO, but performance and seat of the pants not even worth talking about the z's are unreal. I guess it depends on how far you drive, family, weather in your parts, and lots of other factors. I tried to daily mine and as much as I wanted too, just could not do it. I used it for one year and peaced out. I will say corvettes in general are very comfortable on long highway drives. I took mine to TN from NJ and it was great. I think it's your leg position and seats. Now I am sad missing my Z lol.
