Air filter 320D

Hi,

I have a 320D 2008 3 series and i was looking to change the airfilter. I have had a look at its has a panel filter. I have tried to replace the filter having taken off the metal clips but not sure how to take off the air hose connected to the housing, i have unscrewed the jubliee clip from the hose with no avail?

Has anyone replaced the panel style airfilter or know of any guides to do so, it does look a reasonably easy job . Thanks

Hi, yes it is as easy as it looks. Snap off the clips, loosen the jubilee and wiggle the lid out, dont be shy with it. I wasnt prepared for the state of mine!! See my other thread.

the e46 and e90 early 320D with the cone filter where a right pain same for the 330Ds now that bMW have gone back to panels it takes 30 seconds. You dont even need to remove the top cover from the intake hose just unclip and lift it up an you can slip the old filter out. So much easier

Aye, just ease the lid back toward the headlight and pull the panel filter out, easy job, be brave.
