Probably because they haven't had a chance to write anything up. Don't know why, they could have Mr. Spira put a sentence or two together - and pay him handsomely of course!

Please note it does work with Professional Sat NAv as well despite not being mentioned in the doc.
Hi,

the attached document describes the dealer installed option but not the factory installed option (USB-Audio-Interface, SA 6FL). Price for SA 6FL should calculate to about 300 EUR in British currency (mybe plus some extra pounds to ship everything to UK :-)

PS: Why not join the EC and get a normal currency?

Don't be completely "lost"! Get an iPod and have fun. Microsoft needs some further iterations till they have a good mp3 player.

I have a Nano now. I like the iPods but I LOVE the Zune's interface and how solid it feels compared to the "feels like it could break at a moment's notice" iPod.

The iPod's user interface is starting to show it's age. The Zune's has way more pizzaz.

Just wait a few more weeks for the new generation, wide/full screen iPods. They will have the same, spectacular, touchscreen interface that the iPhone was demonstrated with.

MS will ALWAYS be behind. Forget Zune. Get the real thing. You got a BMW and not a Volkswagen, right? So go for Apple instead of Mickysoft.

Nice catch LedZep. I posted in the Week 10 page...and I'm not smart enough to link to that...so I'll post here

When in today to schedule my delivery appointment (27 March BTW!) She showed me a 4 page pamphlet that listed the supported devices and also talked about the USB support and file formats that are compatible (.wav was the only one I saw that was NOT supported). Seems to be completely different then the one posted by BMW3FXD. Anyone else seen this? I guess I should go back and ask her for a copy of it so I can upload it.

EDIT: Talked with my rep and they are going to E-mail me the document. I'll upload it as soon as I get it.

Does anyone know if the 6FL option can be added by the dealer (to an e92 with Nav)? Thanks.

I don't have any information yet on how the cable is obtained (especially if taking ED). However, attached is the latest information that I have received which includes tested MP3 players.

Hope this helps!

I-Won-Today,

This is excellent information, thank you for sharing with us.

It looks like it the USB flash can be used with the folder structure, this is good news since I have tons of mp3 files with non-Latin character IDTags. I rather use the folder structure for these files.

The only bad news is that hdd based USB mass storage is not supported, but not incompatible. Audio playback quality issue, I am guessing the transfer rate might be too slow?

In all I am excited and glad I got the 6FL option.

How will the iPod be held in the car? it's not going to fly around the cabin or anything is it? Can it physically remain in the armrest, or does it have to be lying on the armrest? Thanks for the help - I am not buying my bimmer for a few months and I couldn't picture how the actual iPod would sit in the car...

It would normally be in the compartment under the armrest. There is not any kind of holder for it.

Has anyone actually seen this live?

My question is whether a USB thumb drive can be used directly in the USB port (without a cable) and still close the cover? (In the pictures it appears that the thumb drive would extend horizontally and parallel to the cover when closed.)

I want to know what to take along on the ED trip.
