Not to side track this awesome thread, but how do you like the X6? Are you a family guy? The Q5, X5, and X6 are one of the SUVs we're considering as a replacement for the old' minivan. Roomy? Easy to put lots of bags/toys/etc?

When I got the car I was about to get engaged and move out to the burbs with my ex-gf. It has more space than people give it credit for. You push the back seats down and it is more than adequate.

After that shit was over I was a bit disappointed with the choice.. However, after tuning it, I fell in love with the car. It drives like a sports car (I have the 5.0 with all the performance/Handling options) but has AWD and the clearance of an SUV.

If you hate SUVs, but your situation demands one, I recommend it. I enjoy only having 4 seats. I refuse to be a bus driver. Overall, I love the car. Anyone who speaks negatively on it, has never driven one. Simple as that. They are absolutely shocking when you get behind the wheel. There is little to no body roll and you feel like you can through corners like a car. The hardest thing to get used to is how wide it is...

Taking this a bit further.

A space shuttle start is about 220dB.
A starting aircraft is about 150dB.

Well if you got speaker like nasa does, you can simulate a space shuttle launch at home.....

I went to a launch of Discover in December 1999. It was a cloudless night and it was the single greatest thing that ive ever experienced.

Not sure why Clarkson is surprised. You pump a million gallons of hot water vapor into the air and it will form a cloud. As it cools, the water will condense and fall as rain. It's not rocket science.

Oh, wait......

As far as internships go, the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) at Johnson Space Center in Houston offers some good opportunities. I was an intern there during the summer of '96. Coolest summer ever. I learned a ton about multispectral imaging. And that was in the "old days" when you had to work on Solaris workstations and most of your images were binary code zipping by. Modern graphics software must make it a really cool field to work in these days.
