Getting rid of scratches/swirls on side door panel.

As you guys probably know that BMW 2009 models have the side door panels glossy as compared to before. Looks like it's either glass or paint with clear coat but not sure. Now they're more prone to scratches and swirls and my dealer put some scratches on the side panels after a car wash. I just noticed them recently and was wondering if I can get rid of them by any means? Does anyone know if these side panels have clear coat on them or how they're constructed?

PS: Please see attached picture that I've circled to find out what I mean by side panels.
