Has anyone used the ECS Performance Clutch?
Well the clutch in my car is starting to slip in 4,5,6 so im starting to shop for a new clutch. Ive read a bunch on here about all the different options. I was looking on ECS tuning I saw this kit they sell. They claim that it will hold more power than the stocker and that its the clutch off the 335is, 550i, and 650i. The guy on the phone told me its the clutch they have in there 335 thats pretty modded. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on it.
My car isn't anything wild just Dps, intake, jb4, and run e85 in the summer time. I really don't want to get a clutch thats going to be harsh to drive with. My friend has clutchmasters and he hates it and it seems that act has hard engagement. I bought the car CPO one year ago and it just started slipping at 70,000. Thanks guys! |

Wouldn't trust that without any real numbers behind it.
If your car is stock and will remain that way maybe, but no way I'd trust it for increased power over other proven clutch options already in play. |

We have a lot of customers purchase the Clutch Masters FX100 clutch kit with great success. 70% increased hold and drives almost like OEM.
Details about the clutch can be found here: http://shop.xtrperformance.com/clutc.../i-332092.aspx -Chris |

The most befitting clutch for your needs would likely be the Spec Stage 2.
It's the most proven clutch, and the most widely used. 2+ Has a Torque Capacity of 545 at the flywheel. Stage 2 is 485. |

I'm still considering this OEM clutch that ECS is offering. Looks like it might be all I need. Less than $400. I'm only mildly modded on power, but my stock clutch is awful now. Anyone used this?

I guess researching 335is with fbo's might answer the question to what the clutch can handle.

I was interested in this also. Perhaps someone with a modded 335is can chime in, or maybe we should jump on the 550i/650i forums to learn more.
Any specifications on how much torque it holds? Or how specifications compare vs. Stock 335i clutch, or vs spec clutches?

I'm not seeing any Clutch slip related posts from power in my quick search. Might be worth the swap going after a 335is clutch.
apparently all these cars below use the same clutch. http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/p...207609330.html Product Fitment/Applications BMW 3 Series (E21,E30,E36,E46,E90,E91,E92,E93) 335is Convertible 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 BMW 3 Series (E21,E30,E36,E46,E90,E91,E92,E93) 335is Coupe 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 BMW 5 Series (E12,E28,E34,E39,E60,E61) 550i Sedan 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 BMW 6 Series (E24,E63,E64) 650i Convertible 2010, 2011, 2012 BMW 6 Series (E24,E63,E64) 650i Coupe 2010, 2011, 2012 Edit: seeing as how the 550i is heavier and tuned versions are making 500+rwtq this could be an option... My clutch is slipping and I may go this route.

Our 335i is running this clutch with the Cobb stage 2+ tune currently. Drive-ability is great, clutch feels like a fresh stock clutch, holds power very well with no signs of slipping. As yall have noted, the clutch is used on the 335is, 550i (F10), and 650i F12/F13). To give an idea of what it can hold, currently Dinan is maintaining this clutch in their packages putting down upwards of 580ft-lbs of torque in the F10 550i. Long story short, it can hold a ton of power.

I ask all these questions as I am doing the swap in March and will likely be ordering this clutch.

I read that Some higher hp n54s have to switch to a single mass flywheel to prevent misfires at certain rpm's. Will this clutch pair with an aftermarket single mass flywheel? Or is this misfiring not really an issue ?
