Engine just turn off and transmition went to N

so this morning i got in my car , the car was still cold so i'm driving it like a grandma , suddenly i get the half engine sign and the engine turns of and once i let my leg of the accelerating peddal the transmition goes to N , i parked , turn the car off and on , and everything turned back to normal.

What the heck was that ?!!!!

That is weird. I have noticed that these cars will suddenly go stupid for a moment then turning them off is like reset switch and they act like nothing ever happened. Very strange but you need to get it scanned for codes.

I have a feeling it has to do with the DCT...electronics in german cars sux...if ur running stock take it to the dealer asap.

The dealer will do nothing! I had this happen. Mind you, i don't have DCT. Car running fine. Put the car in Reverse, still have foot on brake pedal, then WHAM. Car just shuts off. No sputter or hickups etc. Just off like it was normal. Put the car in Park, start up and all is normal. Had the car scanned for codes and BT came up with a RESET Code. I couldn't find any reference on this site with regards to that code. Took the car in and the dealer cleared and said 'lets see if it happens again'. I've had the car almost 3 years and first and only time this has ever happened.

it happend to me few times, it goes to N and after few seconds later car shuts down. pullover lock and unlock the car and start again everything becomes normal.. no clue yet though
