I wonder if I put a couple ADV.1 and AA stickers on my car and go to a few meets if they will send me a set of wheels and tune my car?

I don't see why not, they will prolly even make your car payments for free advertising like that

Even 10-15 years ago it was hard to get sponsored. I was in the business so eventually after having a booth at a lot of shows, I started seeing the same people. Then it was easier to get parts and work done. Also we had "resume's" for the shop cars which included shows they had won, shows they would be attending, pictures, coverage and so on. As time went on, it got tougher and tougher for a lot of people because so many kids would take a bunch of sponsorships promising they'd be featured in some magazine, build the car and then sell it without attending any of the required shows or getting the features promised. I remember having to show written proof of a magazine shoot coming up before they'd send the parts and then after the feature came out, I made sure to send copies to the companies showing that we had mentioned them.

I can only imagine how hard it is these days since the recession and the industry is entirely different. As others have said, it sounds like you need to do a lot more before asking for sponsorship. It's not a win-win if you get free parts and they get mentioned by some kid with an almost stock car at a local meet...

It'll help if you have stronger mods like depot headlights and plastidipped stock 16s. That way they can see the potential and direction your car can go.

Not even the hands of christ himself could save that car.

When I had my eclipse long time ago, I was also interested of being sponsored and did some research. There is no company that will hand out free shit. When they fully sponsor you, the sponsor "own's" the car and you are expected to be at every car show! It's almost like a full time job. But then that becomes you being an employ of that company so instead of paying you cash, they will pay you in car parts for a vehicle that they own part of lol

bro, you honestly have something wrong with you if you think you actually have sponsors. I'd bet that if the company whose banner you have on your windshield actually saw it, they'd ask you to take it off. I doubt they want your car to be associated with their shop in any way. it will deter customers. sponsorship usually involves paperwork

I know the owners of a couple shops and I'm sure they would give me a discount if I was interested in their merchandise. Does that mean they sponsor me?

and do you really think going around asking for free shit is going to get you sponsored? you're 17, drive the lowest model BMW available, and you don't know how to mod it. I mean you're driving around on plastidipped 16" wheels.

It's time to reevaluate your priorities and stop posting stupid threads on here. Usually people that post this many stupid threads and have <50 posts are the ones who are repeatedly asked to leave by other forum members
