Alpina is a reknowned aftermarket tuner, highly praised and probably the best known, in Europe. There are others such as Hartge, and even Dinan, but Alpina has been around the longest (I believe). They actually remanufacture their cars, with expensive interiors, redone suspension, replace engines on some models. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpina Their suspension, and body parts can be obtained in the US, but their engine modifications aren't EPA certified. There are cars in the US, perhaps grey market cars. There is an Alpina register http://www.thealpinaregister.com/home I like the rear bumper (no diffuser), the quad exhaust. I especially like no carbon fiber. I think in 10 years carbon fiber as a styling material, will be out, though as a strengthening and lighter than metal material, it will probably still be in use. I did notice a hint of some carbon fiber on the interior.

Nice video, professional quality. I was hoping to hear the car a bit, though. Also, the car doesn't really stand out to me more than a lot of the modded e92s on this site. Front lip, rear spoiler, wheels, tint. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to put that together! And my guess on the band is Rammstein.

Differing suspension components and settings, run on 19" non-run flat tyres. Offer bespoke interiors to customers requirements including distinctive Alpina blue instruments panel. Unique paint colors Alpina blue and Green. Alpina front and rear spoilers to reduce aerodynamic lift. Their own Quad exhaust system. The engine has MAHLE pistons allows for a maximum boost of 1.1 bar with 9.4:1 compression. The result, a peak specific output of 121hp (89kW) per litre and a maximum average pressure of 21 bar. Giving 400Nm (294lb-ft) of torque from 1300rpm onwards, peaking between 3800rpm and 5000rpm at 500Nm (368lb-ft), Maximum 7000rpm, offering 360hp between 5500rpm - 6000rpm. There own updated 6-speed Sport-Automatic software inc. steering wheel with switch-tronic controls. 0-100 km/h: 1. 4,6 s - Alpina (however the offical is 4,8 s) 2. 5,1 s - S4 S-tronic 3. 5,4 s - 335i Steptronic 0-200 km/h: 1. 17,0 s - Alpina 2. 19,3 s - S4 S-tronic 3. 20,2 s - 335i Steptronic B3 Bi-turbo vs. M3 (E90) Power and Torque curves comparison. The B3 BT is also lighter than the M3. All this points to it being more than a match for the M3! Last edited by Estoril Sport; 02-06-2010 at 01:06 PM.. |

Nice Video! At 1:55, when the B3 passes Mercedes Benz, I have actually driven my M3 at that same spot a few times when I have been back and forth from Kaiserslautern to Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen...
