USB connection... again!

The stealer informs me that my car is not compatible with a USB installation and any ipod lead must go to the glove box with a retrofit kit.

Was watching a youtube vid last night and a guy installed the USB kit by using the following parts and coding:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...14&hg=65&fg=95

Part: 65410007392 - Interface
Part: 61120428382 - Adaptor Lead

Coded it and it worked beautifully.

So I take it this is a possibility for my BMW Professional HU?

I have DAB and BT already.

Many Thanks

It would be a lot easier if you just upgrade whole HU to new one. And it worked for another chap with DAB.

All those kits are slow and comes with some limitations (cannot remember how many tracks though).

Cheers. What's the part no. for the HU?

I already have a Professional HU and BT and DAB modules are in the boot. No idea what revision it is obviously not 3.

Then what would I need to run the USB to the arm rest? The 6FL music adaptor?

There are so many part numbers for those HUs. I do not have a list of that tbh.

Once you buy the headunit, you'd require a usb cable and 6FL socket.
And then fitting and coding.

I have a socket under the blank plate but I am informed that it could only be used to connect a phone cradle / boost phone reception via roof antenna...

Will have to go back to the drawing board...

Was hoping to do something like this:

Cheers though appreciate it.

This is what I have mentioned.
Part number is given in that thread but these HU come with multiple part numbers. I have sold few and only on one occasion their part numbers matched.

And I referred to BMW oem ipod kits which are slow.
