The gains would be quite noticable on a 325i if they showed this much difference on a 328i

As for the manifold - I sourced mine from a salvaged Z4 3.0Si (06 or 07, I think - buddy helped me find one) that had the engine replaced from water damage. However, as for the hoses - I bought all of those new from the dealership. With the CCA discount I think it was around $100? I'll have to dig up the post but some people here have found the intake manifolds through a car parts recycling site which is a good idea. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't spend $1k on new parts for this mod - all in I probably spent $200 - $300 on parts for the manifold.

I believe on other threads people showed all of the part numbers which confused me at first until I realized that the actuators and adjusters are already on the 330i (or Z4/X3 3.0Si) manifold - they're just built into the intake. Once I realized that, it was just the hoses and gaskets I needed to buy. I would recommend getting the manifold first - then evaluating what hoses you need. My sourced manifold came with an oil separator on it which I didn't need so Active removed it but I may have bought the wrong hose because of the ports on the back of the manifold. Active used my old hoses and made a workaround by just capping off one of outlets that wasn't needed as the 328i N52's have the oil separators built into the crank case but I do think there is a more appropriate hose for this - I just need to source one and install it at a later date.
It was a pleasure meeting you and working on this amazing project together. Hopefully the drive back kept you awake.

think this is doable in sf? from what i've read the tune would need time to adjust, but based on sf driving of the constant "stop-go" style, would it be affected by any chance?

Once adaptions are cleared it takes roughly 2-3 drive cycles for the ECU to full adapt to the new modifications and driving habits of the owner behind the wheel. Even in the usual Stop and Go Traffic the ECU is still calculating and adjusting to all the given parameters.

Is there a way to clear the adaptations without an OBD tool?

Cheers!

try searching for "**************" on e90post. Free software that will clear adaptations. Make sure you read the threads on it as there is a possible issue with the throttle adaptation (worse case, you can reset throttle adaptation separately). You will need a cable, but I was able to find one on ebay for around $8. It also reads dme codes.

If I have all the necessary parts for this conversion, would you guys be able to install and tune it for me?

I'm really considering making a trip down to Florida.

also, now that you've gotten one in the shop with a 3 stage, will you be offering a separate 328i tune for those with the 3 stage manifold? or is it going to remain the same stage 2, version 3 across the board? thanks again.

buy a 335 if your looking for that.

getting a n52/n51 to put down 300rw is going to take lots and lots of coin.

shit, even 250rw would be really hard. cat-less header, 3 stg IM, aa tune, exhaust, euro intake, etc etc

This car with the other mods is probably at around 265-270 hp at the crank.

If you did a catless downpipe and larger throttle bodies you could max out around 280hp.

Viral,

Let me know if you received my PM!

I was originally planning on an engine swap for my E91 project, but since BMW is replacing my N52 for free, I'm leaning on keeping the car NA and these mods will be nice to make my 6 speed a little more fun.

Check it out!
