I come from 1er forum but there seems to be far more
"stretch" folks on E90 Post so posting this here;

I have new rims coming in and in search of new tires.
Wanted some advice about stretch of the two mentioned.

I'm prob gonna get them at Tirerack as they offer good delivery service and price, thus have come down to these 2 options.

Primary factors are cost and stretch.

As for cost they really don't differ that much so that's ok.


The wheel specs are 8.5 19" for the fronts,
and thinking running 215/35/19.

Rears are of more mild offsets thus no issue,
so will decide upon the brand which will stretch better
(to avoid possible rubbing) with 215 width on 8.5J in the front.

--Note Direzzas are not Star Specs but DZ101

Here is a 225/40/18 on an 18.5" wheel. mine looks pretty stretched to me, not sure i would attempt a 215/35 but according to tire rack they will fit!

The Dunlop will stretch a bit easier, but the Hankook will be able to fit those sizes as well and stretch - almost just as easy.

The DZ101's have been getting some pretty bad reviews in terms of tread wear, while many are even saying the Hankooks seem to hook up better and last longer.

Personally I would suggest to go with the Hankooks.

215 is barely stretched on 8.5"

I have 225/40 on 18x9.5" and 265/35 on 18x11" Dunlop Direzza DZ101s. They're just ok. Kind of noisy and ok treadwear.

Personally, I prefer the Hankooks. They stretch pretty nicely actually, and should easily fit on that wheel width. The only downside is that the sidewalls are very soft on this tire, but the DZ101s are pretty similar in that regard. I was happy with my Hankooks when I had them.

Yes and i guess 215 on 8.5 is a very MILD stretch in terms of what people in the stance scene are doing lol

215/35 is what I'm running on a 8" wheel, perfect tire IMO, not to much stretch. The dunlops seem to be the more popular choice to stretch.
