M-Sport / Brake Duct / Intake?? Questions

Guys,

Car is in shop right now getting front bumper replaced and I am considering M-sport swap.

1) Do non-sport bumper have brake ducting?

2) Looking at the EURO M-sport retrofit (for335d), it says:

Quote:
Important notice:
The installation instructions are not
included in the retrofit kit. Print out
the latest update of the instructions
from
the Aftersales Assistance Portal (ASAP)
and hand them over to the customer.
Important: On vehicles 335i and 335d
the installation kit 51 19 2 149 516,
performance cold air package for engine

and brakes, must also be installed to
prevent engine from overheating.
This has to be a typo, right because the intake is on the other side of the car?

In any case...could we reverse engineer that intake to fit?

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=195658

Has anyone done the swap and have the proper parts list?

I guess I need to go through this and see which parts are not US and/or not already on the car/ don't need replacement.

Does anyone have any general comments????

What's the deal with the brake ducting?

taibanl as discussed via pm, the non msport bumper has brake ducts as does the msport - they are not universal. In other words you need to buy new brake ducts, wheel liners, radiator cowling etc. I am not sure what the "cold air package" is for engine you are referring to below. As far as I know the European msport bumper and US msport bumper are identical with exception to the lack of side marker/refelectors.

Whatever dealer is selling you the bumper should be able to tell you EXACTLY what you need to make for an OEM conversion.

I think the cold air intake (engine reference) was a misprint...but curious.

Trying to save $$ so thats why little support...dealer hasn't done this before..

The tischer part appears to be THIER package alone, and limited to front) (unlike euro kit which has a full retrofit package which is also front /sides and rear)

Am interested in where this process ends, as I have pondered doing the base 335d bumper swap to an M Sport bumper. I thought Evan at Tischer told me it was basically plug and play. But more than the cosmetics, I am interested in the brake cooling duct part. Does my base D have a brake cooling duct? Is there a way to improve that cooling aside from a customized solution?

I know this is a thread-jack question, so please address Tai's issues first and foremost. Just curious.

Yea. I parted it based on headlight washer. Sub the correct bumper cover for it.

I don't blame you. The conversion is not as easy as some people would think. Definitely not cheap either. I want to do it so bad though!
