Considering a 335i....Is anyone running high 10's or putting down 500+WHP no nitrous?

Exactly. I have a feeling this trend is about to change.
I have owned a quite a few modded Corvettes in the past. For me the 335 i was a change in flavor. I like the mod potential mixed with the sleeper factor. People know a Vette is fast. However, most don't know a 135i or 335i is (or could be fast). The surprise factor of a non M 3 series...priceless! |

OldBooster ran 11.26 @ 127 at a slow nd terribly prepped track. Better track would honestly put him in the 10s also noticed when doing vbox testing it consistently is 1mph slower. He is now getting his 135i rebuilt and will easily run 10s. But then again that was with a small dry shot of nitrous

im wondering on this too....ive heard of ppl blowing up their motors just cuz they up the power and run it real hard. wouldnt you need to upgrade the internals?
i spent about $5k on modding the evo and im running low 11's. spend $5k on a 335 and it will look REAL nice. so im getting one. lol |

Wait for HPF to finish there Stage 2 kits, I have no doubt you will have what you are looking for my friend. They are also building a Stage 3 and 4 down the road as well.
Give them a Call man, they have my car right now. |

If you want a fast car, than a vette will fit the bill. For $6500 you will get a supercharger INSTALLED AND TUNED and will put a minimum, I say minimum of 550RWHP on the dyno. That thing will still get 26 hwy. Im in the same exact boat as you. I just sold my TT 350z putting down 500RWHP but that cost way to much money to do. Only down fall of the vette is that all vettes have generic crappy interior. BMW is top notch. |

Yummy! I smell a LSX! Although 19K will get you that. Don't forget about labor...and possibly some fuel and other supporting mods to handle the power. I am guessing that will me closer to 25K+ in parts and labor...maybe more. |

He bought a new LS7 vette last year, then I think he added an LSX mod and long pipes. Then somehow he blew that motor and bought the new motor for a transplant.
This is a picture of his old motor with the LSX mod (I think) Last edited by Dr_Dirt; 04-30-2010 at 01:42 PM.. |

id go w the vette
had the 335, if you want FAST and agile....vette hands down. The only reason I'd go w a 335 again is if I wanted a comfortable daily cruiser thats still quick.

I love my tuned 335i. It is pretty damn quick for a daily cruiser and has nice comfort features but it just doesn't do it for me like I want it to aesthetically. I'll be back in a Vette (either Z06 or Grand Sport) in the next 9 months.....with upgraded interior like this |

I still say 335i. That is just me though. I am burned out on the domestic stuff. Only because I dig the surprise factor of a non M 3 series. Everybody knows Vetts are fast. They expect that. They don't expect it with a 3 series. They just think we are BMW douches....lol Then, they wonder why they got pulled. I plan on 500-600 rwhp range for mine.

When I was running my tests this morning, I was pacing a nice shiny black C6. We came up to the intersection, with him in front, making a right turn. Soon as I made the turn I moved to the other lane to pass him, he immediately jumped on the throttle very aggressively to keep me from passing him. Even though my car was only running a tune (113mph traps), he couldn't stop my pull by the time I already had 2 car lengths on him. Sure suprised the heck out of him. After that, he wouldn't even get next to me! From my experience. It isn't often that I even encounter a car on the road that actually beats me in the 335i. And yes, even though the sedan is tune only on 91 pump, it will be getting much faster very soon. I am having so much fun with the 4 door, because it is a true sleeper, and the exhaust is quieter than the coupe. One of the best things in the world is pulling on a big raspy sounding V8, such as a SRT8, GTO, Mustang, Vette, etc in a BMW that looks and sounds like a stock family sedan!
