Catless or HFC midpipes - pass safety inspection?

Haven't been here in awhile but I figured this is the place to ask. Anyone running catless or HFC mid pipes on their exhaust. Is the smell strong enough that when getting safety check it would be so obvious that you wouldn't pass? Possibly looking at shaking things up a bit and getting an exhaust + mid pipes. I would probably to HFC because I know catless will be really obvious and I don't want it that loud. Looking a maybe the Akra Evolution or Challange with their sport X-pipe.
