Yesterday, I deleted header cat, mechanic made it in 4.5 hours. Then I went to the electrician and he hooked me BMS DPfix. No errors, I hope will not appear.
The sound became a little louder. But here's how to write an additional 15-20 were added and I feel it. On the dyno I'm going later when i choose which tune to do.
Total cost 390$ (cat delete 260$, 120$ BMS and 10$ to install it)

K&N drop-in, charcoal filter delete, and some suspension mods(bmw performance with eibach springs and antiroll kit eibach).

Sounds good! Are you running a N54 engine? Or N52?

I have N52 and read that the BMS DP fix will not work on N52

Let us know the Dyno results

Lol! $1000 too much? Ahahahahaha even AVERAGE headers for a honda are close to $1k, and good ones (mugen or something) are 1.5-2k

Ahahhaha

Ed: and i also read 'factory headers optimum design' some crap? LOL the headers are designed purely around cats asap to reduce emissions. They have VERY sharp bends and merge FAR too soon (gases too hot and buffeting rather than merging quickly)

Yeah this is a mod that'll get you very noticable gains, but even comparing it to a real replacement headers... Totally another league.

I still love this mod even if it took hell and a day to work out all the bugs but top end is a beast now. I still need a TRUE dyno tune cause im still running on AA's stage 2 tune. but i know there are more gains to be opened up with a true tune.
In time when afforable headers come out i will convert but for now this is the best my wallet has too offer

don't know about optimum design but there was a thread a while back in which a race team picked oem catless headers instead of supersprint. I don't believe anyone thinks they are optimum.

That would be due to cost, ss headers are an unbelievable ripoff, something like 2.5 or 3k

I don't think a race team is concerned with costs like the average Joe. They run through tires and brakes that cost more. Super sprint is only around $1300 or so now. Also they mentioned design as a reason stating that considerable gains weren't worth it over cutting stock pipes. Plus I have seen 15 whp dynos too.

No its not i looked at the price last week. Still stupid.

The tires race teams run depending on what requirements are, are usually actually not too badly priced.. When the most exxy tires you can really get street are $400-$450 each
