I'm trying to bleed my clutch now with zero success. My pedal has just fell to the floor and it is dead, even after I pick it up and try to open the bleeder again.

Did anyone else have an 11mm bleeder valve, not a 7mm like the ones in these pics? My bleeder valve on my slave cylinder is 11mm and it is in a different position then then the pics in this thread. Its in such an awkward position that I can't get a box wrench on it for more then a 1/10 of a turn at a time so I end up having the bleeder open for too long and it must be sucking air into the linesince I can't just open and close it right away. Did anyone run into anything like this? My brake fluid reservoir is filled, but I can't get any resistance in the clutch pedal. I think that the line must be filled with air because I can't open and close this damn nut fast enough. What did you guys use in that really tight area? At this point i'm slamming my head into the wall and I really don't know what to do.

I would suggest getting over to your local parts place and see if they have a pressure bleeder. This would help "pressurize" the line and force the fluid through. It really helps when you dont have a second person around to step on the pedal.

I just ordered one last night from bavauto, but I need to wait a few days for it to get here. I actually had my brother stepping on the clutch and holding it, but I think the problem was that I couldn't get a wrench into that area because it is so tight, so it took a while to get the bleeder open and closed so I think it might have been taking air into the line in between trying to bleed it.

What I don't understand is that my car doesn't have a metal bleeder valve like I see in the pics of this thread. Mine is plastic and its in a different location. You can see in this diagram, my bleeder valve is underneath #18, which is the rubber cap for the bleeder valve...

Thats right on the E92. I think the E90 is a just a tiny bit different.

Nope, I really am running out of ideas here since I can't get an 11mm box wrench that is small enough to get a real turn with it so I can open and close the valve fast enough. My clutch pedal is still on the floor, I just can't believe that I can't how such a stupid thing has turned into a huge problem here. So, other people have bled this same valve as me? What kind of tool did you use on the plastic nut? It is in such an awkward place its almost impossible to get a full turn on it.

It only takes like 1/8 of a turn to open the valve a full turn is too much.

Hmmm.... on all of the brakes that I have done with little metal bleeder valves, it has always been just a small turn like you have said and it will start to bleed fluid, but with this POS plastic nut I have to keep turning it to get it to bleed. I'm going to cut an open end wrench in half and try to fit it in there to see if that can solve my problem, but I think that I might have so much air in the line now that I will have to wait for my pressure bleeder to get here in the mail.

That sucks man, cant go to the local pepboys or autozone and pick one up rightquick?

Thing is, I didnt even bother bleeding mine when I did my CDV. Sure I lost a little fluid(and I didnt even clamp the line) but everything feels just as firm as stock. I think people are trying to bleed when they dont really need to. Whatever tiny amount of air gets into the system will work itself out. Its not like youre doing a FULL bleed.

Yeah, at this point I wish that I would have just left the damn thing alone since my clutch was still firm after I swapped the CDV out. I went to advance and autozone, but they only had the piece of crap hand pump ones that didn't even have an adapter for the brake fluid reservoir so I just said screw it and ordered one from bavauto. This blows so badly, sucks when your car is a week old and its already not able to move.

Hmm... I have about 8 years of experience driving manual, 3 w/ a 6spd VR4. I did notice how the 335 almost felt like the car was controlling the clutch engagement, but coming from an Acura TSX I wasn't sure what to think. When I try to do a fast start from 3k, even with DTS/DSC off, the clutch slips big time and the power just drops out the floor for a second. I thought maybe it was because I was out of practice. I did get it to chirp once from 1-2 and 2-3.

Will Zeckhausen perform this mod for you? I live nearby...

They do not do the mod, only sell the part. Im probably closer than they are. Ill do it for you. My offer is out there for anyone in the area. 15 mins and youre a happy driver.

I've decided to wait until my bavauto pressure bleeder gets here to finish trying to bleed the clutch since my pedal is so dead I can't get it to bleed since there is no resistance to pump the air out of the bleeder with the pedal.

I have a question for anyone that has used the bavauto pressure bleeder. I have seen online that some people fill it with brake fluid, and others just make sure that the master cylinder is filled with brake fluid, and they just pump the pressure bleeder with air and don't fill it with fluid. What do you suggest that I do? Any info is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, your are correct it goes on the master cylinder, but i'm still not sure if I should just use air or fill it up with some brake fluid though. I have seen people do both, but I don't know what's better for my situation since i'm not doing a flush, just trying to get the air out.

I now know what you mean I did mine this weekend and I also have the 11mm plastic bleed screw it took like one full turn for the fluid to come out. I crimped the line took out the CDV and put it back togeather and used my vacume bleader I just pumped it to 25 psi and cracked open the bleader until the air was out, about 10 sec. and now its good. BTW mine is a 06 330i but the bleed valve looked the same as you discribed.

I used the one like Maestro mentioned on page 2

I am not sure how the one you got works if you connect it to the master cylinder. I like the vacuum ones since you pull fluid to the bleed valve then close it when you are done.

Pressurizng the system will require you to go back and forth to the master cylinder and the bleed value. I think you might find that one a bit harder to work with.
