New BMW Owner

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is JayR, and i am a new and first time owner of a BMW. Just picked up an 08 335i e92 Space Gray and i must say it is not like any other vehicle i have owned thus far and quite impressed with it. The car i was toying with prior was a 01 Lexus IS300 and a WV CC 6MT Sport as a daily.

So Ive been reading on the forums, and i will admit there are alot of terms im still trying to learn and the LINGO is quite different, but it is to be expected with a new platform.

Anyways, I dont plan on modding it too heavy, but just doing a quick search there are so many options and paths to take depending on ones goal and financial support

Looking to do just a few simple bolt on upgrades, maybe intake, exhaust, DP, ive heard alot of people get some good gains from chips and tunes, but as ive said not really familiar with whats good or bad for this platfor just yet. Ive seen alot of talk about a JBx or what have you, anyone care to explain? Not sure what the pros and cons are with the BOV and dual cone intakes. Not looking for anything crazy.

Stuff i know i do want to do and just looking to find the parts is I want a front lip, i found one i like it looks like OEM add on, i want to do a simple trunk and roof spoiler. Something im still trying to figure out is the term LCI and pre and post attachemetns to that term.

I would like to get a white light for my head lights and halos, also doing some research on that as well.

So as you can see im still very new to the BMW platform, just looking for some suggestions and guidance! Thanks in advance!

The IS

Most people start with JB4 and DCI (Dual Cone Intake, first mod you should do). JB4 is a tune that can be found here: http://www.burgertuning.com/jb4_pnp_...nce_tuner.html It's a pretty simple plug and play concept.

As for the Exhaust and DP, I've heard there's quite a few extra steps you need to do to stop the car from throwing codes, I would research this heavily before attempting it yourself.

Check out the sponsor/classified section of the forum for any of your body part needs, there's a good selection.

LCI is any e90/e92 that was built after March/April 2010, it was basically a mid cycle refresh. Pre Lci is 2006-early 2010, so you have a Pre-LCI.

Welcome to the forum!
