Marked Alloy = First Blemish!

Went around a sharp bend today, and stumbled across a large truck parked just after. I swerved to make sure I was clear, but the back wheel managed to clip the kerb.

Effect - 1 marked alloy!

The mark is only about an inch, and it's not really too bad. But in sympathy with many other forum users, I can't but keep starting at it. Maybe this will make it disappear?!http://www.e90post.com/forums/images/smilies/cry.gif

I got a few of those myself. My remedy is not to at it. Give yourself a few more week and you will forget about it and just enjoy driving the car.

There are places that can do repair jobs on alloys, I think they fill them and paint them and do a pretty good job. I have no suggestions of where to go though, as I have never had this dont myself.

My dealer will do them $150/wheel. I've already gotten 2 done and picked-up another scrape earlier this month that I'll take care the next time that I go in for service.

Still trying hard not to look at it!

Depends on which angle the wheel is when parked as to how noticable it is!

My dealership charges $125 for a guy (outsourced) to do the wheel repair and takes 1 full day. I'd rather go straight to the guy but I need to meet him first. The dealership also gives out a loaner.

I guess I'm lucky. My local BMW dealership gave me the number of the guy they use to fix BMW wheels and he charges only $70 no matter how bad the damage and he comes to my house and it takes him no more than an hour for each wheel. All he requires is a place to plug in his air compressor.

I badly banged up my right side wheels when I hit slide off the road and hit a tree log about a week ago and the guy came over and fixed both wheels for $140 out the door, took him 1 hour and 15 minutes (1 hour for rear wheel, 15 minutes for front wheel) and put a completely new clear coat on rear. Looks good as new.

where do you live man...im coming!! hahaha....im looking to have my wheels refinished but the other wheel repair shops want $250 each. The scratches are not deep but just from car washes (dunno what kind of brush they use)....but the dealership charges $125 per wheel and gives me a loaner...so im guessing the actual guy also charge about $70-80/wheel and the dealership takes the rest of the margin. hopefully somebody around town can identify this person so we can just get the deal direct from him.
