bmw assist is that function, its not a "tracking device" by any measure and doesnt come close to replacing a low jack.

I work in the MEPA area, there are tons of expensive cars in the area so Im surprised they would go for yours. ESPECIALLY from 7-11 PM. It sounds like a tow from the city. Either way sorry to hear.

damn... at 400 miles that really really sucks, but I would actually like for my car to get stolen, kinda almost at my limit in miles with my lease and want something new.

where'd you park again, LOL.

Good luck though, i'd be on the phone with insurance bitching for a new car or at the minimum have the lease / financing terminated.

I am sorry to say but 60-65k is not all that cheap! Why would u think otherwise that they wouldnt go for his car ?? I am sure there might be a couple of porshe and lambo around but those cars were probably Parked right in front of the bar or club. Do u realized a BMW cost overseas around 125K!!

Definitely sucks big time...My $.02 though, I worked for a BMW dealer since 96 and there has not been a way to defest the EWS ignition system since it was developed in 1995.5

I would be highly suspicious if there was not a key in your owners book or something that you may not be aware of. Keys are not orderable by the dealer without being traceable also.

If anything, I would say it was towed out and yes maybe right to Newark

You have no idea my friend how easy it is these days especially with the key Fob. I saw videos of this and it's crazy fast compared to old school hot wiring. This is no joke and it's becoming epidemic the car smuggling ring.

I know this area WELL its almost a second home, I probably see 10+ e90s/92s on a daily basis, tons of Benz's and Audis parked everywhere. Bentlys, Lambos, Astons come out at night. As well as undercover detectives in taxis. Something about this story does not match, OP did you leave the spares in the glove box?

you dont need a key, they probably towed that shit to the port. Cars get towed all day in mepa, it could have happened in broad daylight in from of a squad of cops and nobody would suspect a thing

but it does sound suspicious considering I've never heard of en e9x being stolen, and every time I heard about one being stolen, it was part of a scam.
