I Know this is lame, but I need some help with the Light switch mod

I'm an old guy, 61, retired Army, and have driven BMWs for over 40 years but have never been mechanically inclined. I installed the Euro switch on a couple of E93 verts but when I traded them, I sold the Euro switches. I know there is a way to modify my light switch so that the rear fog lights will work on my 335d. The new model with the chrome knob is now $120 so I was considering the mod to my current switch but here goes, I'm too chicken to do it myself. I understand all it takes is a part from a pen and a nickel. Read the DIY thread but no way I can tackle that job with my clumsy fingers.

If there is anyone out there in the Frederick-Hagerstown area that is willing to do it for me I would really appreciate it. I'll be happy to buy you a beer or 2 or 3. I can meet you after work on a weekday evening. Thanks very much. I have my flame retardant suit on, so flame away.

I believe your car already comes with a white plastic piece so you do not need the pen/nickel. I am new to BMW and modding so I never knew about this until I read your post.. I did a bit of research and it only took about twenty minutes. Hardest part was pushing out the rear fog light button. Other than that it's a really simple mod. I'm sure someone here will help you out for free.

If this is the case, I'll give it a try on my own. How do you "push out the rear button? Is it from the front? Do I still use the mod thread and just not follow the directions about using a pen part and nickel?

Take a look at the back of the light switch trim. Behind the dead button you'll see two black clips holding it from falling out. You have to bend them out a bit and push the button out. After that I just used nail clippers to cut off the four tiny stubs on the button that prevent the button. Then all you need to do is assemble everything and put it back together.
