Couple of questions

Guys,

My brake fluid service light came one today saying that it needs to be changed next month, the car is not even 2 years old yet plus I only just got it so if it did need doing the dealer should have done it..

Has anyone else seen this?

Also what MPG are you E90 330i Auto drivers getting, I am getting aound 20/21 around town and that is not giving it loads of beans?

Not sure on the brake fluid query, but that MPG figure does not look good,I'd be well pissed off with that return.
Makes me wonder what returns I'll get on my 335D,although to date it's fantastic, it's back in the dealers!!!

Shouldn't need a service within 4000 miles of collection:

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/about...ts/0,,,00.html

I get an average of 24 mpg, but I suspect my computer is reading low. There is some information somewhere about calibration, but I've never bothered to check.

Around town my 325i manual (E92) shows around 26mpg, so I reckon yours is probably about right scottc. Autos tend to use a bit more fuel do they not?

Brake fluid change is time base I think - every 2 years. It is on my E46. It is time based purely because of the properties of the fluid itself - it naturally "likes" to absorb water, and it will do over time - the presence of water degrades the performance of the fluid hence why it should be changed. If you bought your car before it was 2 years old I doubt the dealer would bother changing it early. If you car is not quite 2 yrs old from first registration, it may have been built some time before that (I assume the timer for the fluid is set at the factory??, or perhaps reset by dealer, don't know actually....)

That is qiute fabulous!!!!

I couldnt get mine to budge from 26.4mpg mostly town driving. Then once the car got to about 8k its now gone upto 28.5.

Either you have a 335i and dont know about it, or possibly your computer is using the US mpg, tru checking in the settings menu of the idrive.

Where are the settings for MPG within iDrive?

As for the brake fluid, I have only had the car just over a week and I dont think I should be having to pay for a brake fluid change already??

No - the setting are about right.

Have the car 2 weeks, filled up 3 times done 430 miles. Range on a full tank shown as 266 miles.

Oh dear.

It should get a bit better when it loosens up some more but it looks like I won't be joining the Smug Diesel Gang quoting massive mpg figures at passers by at dinner parties.

Thank fcuk for that then!

That is shocking economy!!! Are you sure the handbrake is not sticking?
I am averaging about 34mpg with mixture of dual carriageway/town driving, and I am not afraid to nail her as well.

It seems that I am either stationary or at full tilt - not much in between on any kind of road.

Would have expected it to do a bit better than the 330 E46 it replaced (which actually gave me better economy when it was given the treatment) but there you go.

Can't fault it for fun though ........
