Trunk won't open

Hi Folks, I have 335i with Comfort Access. Today my trunk is refusing to open. I tried from FOB, Trunk open button inside the car and FINAL attempt with the key itself.
What could be wrong? Any suggestions?

Something similar happened to me. I just forced it open and discovered the handle of a cotton shopping bag had gotten wedged into the latch. No damage done in forcing it open, but it was of course a chance doing it. I can't recommend doing that for anyone else.

If your seats drop down, you could try squeezing through and taking a look around with a flashlight.

Thanks Dozhdbog. I have the cold weather ski package, so I have a little access to the trunk. How did you force it to open?

Is your glove compartment locked? If it is locked, the car is in valet mode which means the trunk can't be opened.

I just got a grip with my fingers and lifted until it popped open.

Good point. Make sure you don't have the glove compartment valet lock thingy going on.

BLKLYZ, Dozhdbog,,, Thanks a ton. Valet lock was on My friend mistakenly did it today.
The new thing that I learned is when valet lock is on, you cant open the trunk even with the key.

You actually can. At least on my '06. You have to put the valet key in sort of upside down from the way you might think it'd go. Then turn it to the left and it should pop open, even in valet mode.

Dealer did a lot of work to my car over the past week and they tripped the trunk switch that I didn't even know about. Thought my trunk was fried for a bit, but luckily, it was not.

The same thing happened with my friend's M3 a couple of years ago. We tried everything to unlock his trunk. Had to call the dealer and they told him about valet mode.

Thanks for your post. I just completed my heated seats upgrade and the trunk would not open by any method. This was the solution

I hav a 2011 335i with CA about a week ago my trunk started acting up. When i open it with the key in my pocket it sounds the alarm didn't do this before. Then i notice it will open without the key in my pocket or without me pressing the trunk button on the key fob. The only time it doesn't sound the alarm is when i physically use the button in the key and not the trunk latch. Can anyone shed some light on this?
