yellow engine malfunction light

the yellow engine malfunction light came on and flashed while i was parked sitting for about 15 minutes. i turned the car off and then back on, and the light was gone.

i've read that it could be the fuel pump

I just got back from the auto parts store. We hooked up the machine and didn't find any codes.

I also noticed when the battery is on the service engine soon light is also on.

anyone?

I wouldn't worry too much about it if it went away. Do you have I-Drive? If so, then whatever the problem was would've came up on the screen.

Unless you have a BMW specific code scanner, you will not get any codes unless the light is still on. If you're under warranty. take it by the dealer to get it checked, if not stop by your indy just for a checkup

no i-drive. the service engine light stays on when the battery is on.

the light went after i turned the vehicle off and back on the first time it happened.

now is it still on? if so then go get it checked at one of those places.

hows the car feel? dont abuse it or anything til then. sometimes, the SES light clears itself but your best bet is to get it checked out

the ses light stays on when the batter is on, but not when the engine remains running. the tachometer flutters at odd times it feels like when the gears change. i'm not too sure how else to explain it.

Had the same things happen... Even the flutter on the tachometer. Had my hpfp replaced.
