Simon maps the car then goes out for a test run ensuring all is well. I can vouch for him as he has done two cars for me. If for some reason the dealer was to "wipe" the map, he will reinstate it for free. He is not just "a man with a laptop" and has been mapping cars, especially BMW's, for years. Top bloke with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Speak to Simon. I have never had cause to contact him, after both my cars were mapped.

Spoke to Simon - seems like a genuine guy, he can dyno the car but will cost an extra £50 based in Derby

Ecotune worth a look.

If you're in the Midlands have a word with Ant at AP Automotive in Telford, he is well respected for performance BMW in the area.

I don't really think the upgrade is worth spending that much on, I will contact Simon from Emaps and see what he can do - thanks for the help guys and will keep you posted
I have the performance power kit on mines installed. But mines is a automatic which means it has a uprated torque converter. I think it's only running at 390NM of torque and running around 200BHP. I think the car could easily run 450NM if I got it mapped externally as the torque converter could easily handle this.

Right guys, car booked in with Simon at E-Maps...he said he might have to remove the ECU?? What would this involve and is this necessary for my vehicle.

I have a 2013 13 plate E92 320d

Thanks

Update -

Had the remap done from Simon @ Emaps, I'm very impressed by the service he provided and the difference it has made to the vehicle

I would recommend Simon to anybody considering a remap

Just going to slightly hijack the thread...

The way I see it is a DTUK is like a mini remap and then obviously getting a remap is the full thing.

My question is, can you have both a DTUK and a remap or is it one or other? and if so which one would be best to get?

Remap would replace a tuning box, as all it does is trick the ECU in to running outside of its parameters, where a remap can change those parameters among other things.

No buddy it would have meant going out to Derby to hire the rolling road - instead Simon came out to my place of work to remap it. I will put it on the dyno if members on here do a group buy of some sort...

I dislike all tuning boxes, seems a bodge way of increasing power.

There's no 'might' about it - On the E9* LCI models the ECU has to come out. Takes under 10 minutes to remove it, so no big deal. What then happens is the 'look away' part, when they take the outer casing off the ECU to reveal the PCB. They then clip on to the processor to remap it. No OBD2 remaps possible on these cars.
You probably know all this already now that you've had it done

What kind of performance increase (in terms of 0-60) would you expect from remapping a 320d?
I know that's sort of like asking how long is a piece of string, but it would be good to get a rough idea.
