flat tyre warning but no flat tyres?
I have a 2007 318d and i have the tyre warning light constanly displayed, and iv checked all tyre pressures but it still appears instanly after resetting it. it even is on when i first start the car and havnt even moved. iv been having issues with my traction control kicking in aswell, at all speeds, turns and straights, killing the power to the wheels. i removed rear sensors and cleaned which fixed the issue for a while however returned. im guessing the two problems are linked as they both rely on the rear wheel speed sensors?
any help is appreciated cheers |

Are you sure you don't have a slow puncture? I had a bastard nail that was hard to find and barely visible... only when the nail got pressed a lot would it release air and set the sensor off. I would not have found it if I did not take the wheel off and check it over for 15 minutes. Just my two pence worth.

I had this two weeks ago.
Theres a way to reset the abs sensor using the button on the end of the stalk. I did it and the warning went away

thanks for the suggestions, iv kept a close eye on tyre pressures and non have dropped over a the week. iv reset the fault from the stalk and it just comes straight back on :/ iv ordered a sensor to fit and hopefully pin it on a dodgy sensor. i tried using my cheaper code reader and nothing flagged up

another possibility is a broken or fouled reluctor ring. This is attached to the half shaft, from which the abs sensor measures the rotational speed, and it may be rusty, broken or very dirty - perhaps due to a split boot. You can see the ring through the abs sensor hole and you may be able to give it a bit of clean up with a rag stretched over a screwdriver poked through the hole. You'd have to rotate the wheel to clean the teeth.

Run us through you're reset procedure you're carrying out.are you selecting 'reset' holding the stalk then letting it go?wheel speed sensors have nothing to do with a static RPA fault.
