New Issue ... POI's Just Appear
Ok ... another new issue. Yesterday and today ... a week after V26 loaded and 8 weeks after picking up the car I now notice that restaurant POI's automatically appear on the map without requesting POI or other any information be displayed.
I normally leave the ENTERTAINMENT stuff in the large main screen and leave the PERESPECTIVE VIEW of the map in the smaller screen. Suddenly while driving I look at the SMALLER nav screen and see that the KNIFE and FORK have miraculously appeared all over the map !! Like MAGIC ... reading my mind maybe that I a bit hungry !? Anyone else see anything similar ???

From what I've read on this forum, whatever the last POI criteria that you searched, will appear as icons on the map.
So if the last POI you searched were restaurants, then restaurant icons will appear on the map. I searched for a golf course the other day and after I found my desination there were a whole bunch of little golf icons telling me where all the other courses/golf shops were... pretty good tool!

you can just turn them off on the far left side of the navi menu when you are viewing the map

In old Idrive versions, the POIs went away every time you turned off the car. Later on, they changed that so the last searched POI icons stay on the screen until you manually remove them.

if your last search was say a gas station you would see those instead of the food icon

OK ... OK -- I know all that. Let me be clearer......
Day 1 - I do a search for "RESTAURANTS" or whatever ..... I find what I want and then in the Navi menu TURN OFF the POI so that the RESTAURANTS (little knives and ofrks -- cute) no longer appear on the screen. Day 2 - Sometime after I start the car and drive off the RESTAURANT POI's autiomatically re-appear ()little knoves and ofrks dancing all over the screen). I DID NOT turn on the POI in the Navi menu IT CAME ON BY ITSELF !! So .. now I turn it off again. Day 3 - IT"S BACK AGAIN !!!!! I cannot get it to go away without turning it off EACH TIME I START THE CAR !!!!! THAT IS NOT NORMAL !!!!! I HOPE ..... Did not work that way with Version 25.02... at least not in my car.

The car thinks you are always hungry and tries to show you where to go reload on food. seriously... Maybe it got stuck on that particular POI. have you tried a new search...say look for gas stations. see if the same happens.

Yup !!! DOes not matter what I look for. After I find it I turn off the POI function and it stays off until I use it again or shut off and restart the car. Once restarted a few minutes later the POI pops up again with the last item searched for regardless of how many days ago it was last activated.
Wierd !!

i dont think the dealer will be able to do much if this is with the latest software... you'd probably have to wait till another version is out and hope that version has the fix for it... theres nothing the techs can do to change that.

The car has ESP. It knows you're hungry..
Kind of related... When your fuel alert goes off, why not automatically que up navigation with fuel stations on? Or automatically run a search to display the closest gas stations..

On mine if I change the distance of the view, the POI symbols go away. The only way I have found to turn them off is to start a route then you can get to the POI on/off on the left of the map. Then stop Nav. This will stop them from coming on untill you next search. A pain the ass since they also show up in the assistance window so I just zoom the map in or out and they go away.
