I had done 2 clusters e90 and E93 with white leds, didn't satisfy so I went up to complete M3 cluster. Much better look even it's costly .

Can buy the needles and the M3 cluster rings from bimmian.com , I think they sell those.

And then find someone to do the LED change.

Anyone have the intensity of the white LED's used on our cars... also warm or day/blue white?

I did this in a MK5 GTI I had back ~3 years ago. The intensity range was too high and it was too bright even on low.

Bye bye nasty VW Indigo Blue...

I would trade the red for the indigo blue anytime... I had a Sonata 2.0T Ltd that I traded in for my E90, and it had the white/blue.. loved the dash, but on the gear selector, it was so bright it was distracting at night.

Indigo Blue is hard on the eyes at night and gets blurry after a while.

Just my experience with my MK5 GTI.

Bump on an old thread.

I'm looking to get this M3 gauge cluster mod.

I've found out the M-style red needles: http://www.bimmian.com/M-Style-Red-N...r-E91-3-Series but I've NOT found the M3 cluster rings. I've only found this: http://www.bimmian.com/Gauge-Rings-f...3-Series-from-
I had a look and did not found any white LED cluster lights on Bimmian. Where else can I buy them from? Thanks.

So to get that look all you have to do is changed LED from amber to white? As well as changing the needles? Because I'm thinking of the same thing since look so good!

Yep, it was the first mod I did on my car. If you are used to soldering then you can get it done in half an hour or so and I think it looks miles better

All together, we can find shops who sell parts required to get this M3 Gauge Cluster Mod done.

Parts Required:

1. White Cluster LEDs: ?
2. M3 Red Needles: $29 @ Bimmian ( http://www.bimmian.com/M-Style-Red-N...r-E91-3-Series )
3. M3 Backing Plates (Cluster Rings): ?

omg kill this thread already.

1. Just buy a used OEM M3 cluster and have it recoded.
2. Needles, gauge rings, and back plates were all from a dissected OEM M3 cluster. Good luck finding those parts.
3. This mod messed up my RPM needle motor. I couldn't get it repaired so had a new cluster retrofitted. Modder beware.

k thx.
