Cobb AP Throwing Codes

Hey guys,

I currently have the following mods: ETS fmic, BMS DCI, Vanguard Exhaust, Cobb stg 2. Twice I have gotten the following codes: p0174 (running lean), and p29E1 (mixture control 2). Anyone have the same experience why the car is throwing these codes. My ride feels pretty much the same can't really feel a decline in performance. My guess would maybe be the o2 sensor is bank 2 but i'm not sure. Chime in please. Thanks in advance.

When my precat 02 went bad I got P2CAB and P2CA7 codes, I got it replaced within a week so I didn't bother checking AFRs and whatnot, but the car felt more or less OK. The day I took it in it was not a happy camper on cold start, didn't throw misfire codes but it was stumbling all over the place until it got warm.

Are you running E85? I had that code once when I was blending a small amount of E85 with 93 octane.

No, just using 91 octane. Never tried e85. Any other thoughts?

i would try to run the cobb stock map and see if it happens with that to. also you should log with both stock and stage 1 .... AFR both banks and STFT both banks.

Logging will help you determine whether to change the pre-cat O2 sensors or not. Also, how many miles on the car?

not sure if relevant to the codes, but shouldn't you be running stage 1+ as opposed to stage 2?

Haha! I should be with the current mod list. I forgot to mention I have vrsf downpipes. That probably changes a lot. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have about 62,000 miles on the car. I also forgot to mention I have downpipes, which is pretty important considering I came here asking why my car is throwing codes

Doesn't cobb Stage 2 require downpipes? You didn't list those in your mods.
