I beat a c5 z06 with my jb4 and dci anout 8 months ago. He had exhausts cam and 1 passenger. It was from a 15 mph roll and every shift I edged him. He was really surprised and has some respect for 3 series now. His car sounded amazing though. With down pipes and e85 I would easily smoke any stock z06...c5 at least.

Problem is, z06 is only offered in manual, so if the driver sucks then the car will be slow. My uncles c5 z06 is a beast because he knows how to drive it. After riding in it and racing it, I would say a 335i would need bolt ons and meth to beat a well driven c5 z06.
Theyre underated(not the claimes 405), close to 425-435 hp in a very very light car is no joke. |

Maybe. I have seen wierder things. Like Shiv's single turbo (at that point weighing in at 3,600 lbs making maybe 550 to the wheels) pull on a 3,300 lb 880 RWHP supercharged Z06 at the Shift-S3ctor airstrip event.

Either the corvette was a)not racing b)3 gears higher than he should've been c) was making about 400whp less than claimed Either way, he didn't "beat" a 800+whp vette. |

I have Procede V5, DCI, Forge DV, ER FMIC and E93 (so I'm 440 lbs heavier than coupe). I raced a Z06 from stand still to 130 and I kept up with him most of the way but he clearly inched up 1.5 to 2 car lengths ahead by the time we reached 130. I suspect a coupe or sedan may have made it closer. He was NOT procharged. So I suspect there was some exaggeration of one of the parties in this claim.

Well, we were there and watched as shiv passed this 800whp vette. Maybe his claimed 800whp was an exaggeration, who knows BUT he got beat! Adam was there, I was there and heck, even Terry was there! We all saw this!

The guy was running a stock C5, non Z06- and just forget about the Procharged part. This isn't a "driver skill" thing. You put the car in third and floor it. Buslengths by 120. I don't think many realize just how fast a c5 z06 is, especially top end.
Here is 1 of 6 I've owned Goodyear actually paid me for that pic

This proves it, the 335 IS the fastest car on earth, just like we've all suspected all along.

No, in a real race the 335I would be mulitple bus links back. It would be like racing a tune only N54 against the single turbo(that would actually be a closer race, the only difference there is the power.) C'mon guys, think about it. If anyone in the mid atlantic is getting a single turbo from Vishnu PLEASE get in touch with me, my best friend has true 850whp SS Camaro that he would love to run against a single turbo N54 Last edited by rader1; 05-14-2012 at 10:00 AM.. |

Yes the Vette Shiv raced had an 880 RWHP dyno sheet an his tuner was there as well. It might have been Cunningham or RD...or some other. All the major tuners were there so I forget which one.
Yes the guy said he "took it easy because he was scared". He had someone else drive his Vette as well. Whatever.

If you are running on the Mexico's streets I usually use the 100 MPH rule to define a "win".
ie. 40-140 MPH run. Anything short of that doesn't really distinguish which car is actually the faster car. For instance I'm sure nobody would believe me if I said I beat a Ferrari in my Jeep the other day, but 0-20 I definitely had him, although he might have been sleeping at the light. |

I have no idea wat the OP is talking about. Was at a stop light 3 weeks ago (when we were getting summer weather at the end of april) and a C6 z06 rolled up, def knew something was up b/c i heard the s/c belt-whine. asked him how much power he had and responded "tell you at the next light"..... that light turned green & he took OFF!! easily got my asshole blown open, running stage 1 aggressive w/ my afe intake (similiar to jb4 + intake). turns out he was making ~700whp, supercharged w/ headers & straight pipe exhaust.
a procharged c5 z06 is making between 550-600 hp, so unless you're running an FBO + meth 335i or 8 months ago you had shiv's single turbo, i'm sensing a little |
