Sumitomo HTR Z III
There hasn't been any news threads on these tires so I just wanted to get some fresh feedbacks.
I need to order new tires for my 2006 325i with sport package. 225/45/17 Front 255/40/17 Rear What I originaly wanted was the Hankook V12's but they are currently back order. I need new tires ASAP and the Sumi's are available right now. Please let me know your experience or feedback concerning the HTR Z III. Feedback on the Hankook V12's would also be appreciated. Thanks! |

Considering grabbing a set of these to replace my RFTs on the 162s...
Any opinions from current owners?

i have a set on and like them a lot.tires before the sumis were bstones re01-r which at that time probably were the best tire for dry performance.sumis are softer ,but stick great and wear very nicely.for the money i believe it's a no-brainer.highly recommend them.
if you decide to get them, check with onlinetires.com best price around. They have a huge wherehouse in Cerritos,ca,so any socal people, that's the place to get your tires.cheers |

I ordered a set today from TireRack (thanks Gary!). Hopefully I'll be able to get them put on this weekend. I'll report back on my impressions...

I've had these for over a year (w/ 162's). No complaints.
If you currently have the Bridgestone RFTs, you'll feel the difference right away. These and maybe any non-rft will have a smoother ride. |

So far these have been great tires. Very quiet ride, and very smooth. Of course I only have about 300 miles on them...

I had these on my Pontiac gto. 235/40/18 all around. Great tires, although, I did notice my average mpg went down about 3mpg. Would recommend them nonetheless for the price.

Agreed...no issues...quiet, smooth, grippy. I have 245/35-19 and 275/30-19. Little bit stiffer compared to stock 162, but I think that has more to do with going up a size than the sumi tire itself.

Here's an update on these tires. I know that BMW are known to destroy rear tires but damn only 1 and half summer.
These are really good when new but it gets really loud when the thread get low. I would rank the treadlife a 6 out of 10. I never tracked the car and my car a daily driver. I installed them at the end of summer of 2010, had them off in Dec for winter tires and then installed them in May. I recently removed them in Dec 2011 and the tread for the rear are finish. For the front there is maybe 1 summer left. Good tires but sucks in treadwear. I would not recommend if you are looking for tires that will last a bit longer. |

They are quiet and nice. I've had them for a few thousand miles but hands down DWS are the best everything. I owned so many tires and you get what you pay for.

They are indeed quiet and has great control. It just doesn't last long even for a daily driver. Can't imagine the longevity if you actually track it or have a heavy foot.
It will get loud when its almost done, especially during low speed. |
