Anyone in Baltimore, MD area w/ a Muffler delete on 335?

I was planning on welding some new tips onto my OEM mufflers this week and at first I was just going to delete the secondary cats. But now I am questioning if I should do a muffler delete and keep the secondary cats. I know people say this is a pretty loud setup, but I want to hear it in person as video's really don't portray sound the way it is in real life. I like loud, but not excessive drone (I've read mixed feedback on drone). Anybody willing to meet up so I can take a listen??

^Oh trust me I think I've seen every single vid on youtube regarding the muffler delete. I just gotta hear it in person to make a final judgement. If not, I'll stick with my gut instinct and just get the 2nd cats removed.

I'd figured that you did already...from the videos it seems a bit loud for me. I guess I will know if you get the muffler delete beacsuse I will hear you starting up from the NCC building.

I'm also thinking about getting a muffler delete. Does anybody know if it throws any codes because my car is still under warranty? I just want a pretty simple fix to help make my exhaust a little less restrictive.

It won't throw any codes. Techincally our exhausts are pretty free flowing already, so most people do it just for noise.

Definitely won't throw a code, but the noise alone would make any dealership know that you modded something. they will say your catless exhaust caused your front rotors to warp and replace it on your dime

I've heard the vids on youtube and I think i'd rather just get the mufflers replaced by more free flowing maganaflow mufflers or something. I've seen a few cool setups on here with the rear resonator deleted and an x-pipe in its place.

The original owner of my 08 335i did the muffler delete. Not overly loud, although my wife swears she knows exactly when I leave for work early in the morning.

My only complaint is the drone that is very noticeable inside when on light throttle in 6th from about 1800-2400 RPM. Looking for a way to reduce/eliminate the drone with either an X-pipe or adding small mufflers like Magnaflows. Any thoughts?

Resonators will help as will a cross bar welded to the pipes. The fix is to have j-pipes with capped resonators welded in but that's pricey.

I have a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and that helped on my car.

Hmm, I may go this route. I'll have the shop weld em right after the OEM resonator.

Are you guys in Baltimore or VA, I wanted to see if I could hear the difference, I have muffler deletes but just a little loud for my taste, it's the drone I have a problem with, I was looking for mufflers a while back but held off for a while to see if I could just get used to the sound. I have but not the damn drone
