this happened to me ... I was extra cautious with my parking. Parked near one of those stripped lanes. Half way on the lane... the person to the right of me left and a mini parked, the distance between the two cars was huge. As i was walking out of the store this drunk bitch in her honda fit parked between me and the mini (no parking spot there)... She decided to open her door and hit my car. I was upset and she came at me and started HITTING me. Seriously this point im mad, she smells of alcohol and after she started hitting me i got mad and told her to fuck off... some guy came by and said forget about it its a small scratch.... I had no dings or scratches on my car at this point until this drunk bitch. I decided to get back at her. Quick call to the police reported her and where she was. Surprisingly she started driving after buying wine coolers, she opened one in the car and got pulled over because of the reported assault. I stopped the cops told me to leave i told them i was the one that called. They asked if i wanted a report... and at that point my revenge was done. They found crack, a crack pipe, she was driving with an open container, drunk, and fucked for a very long time.
The other time I had a girl bump into my rear end at a red. I get out she start crying and apologizing. She said she would pay me cash to fix it and she had previous accidents. I took down her number and name, and i was able to buff it out. No worries, no money was asked and everything was solved peacefully. |

if that didnt work out i would have told her im calling the cops, if she ignored me i would call. kicking in her door is rewarding but she will obviously know you did it, and the problem with a modded car is someone can recognize it anywhere so the next time she sees it parked you might be in for a surprise when you get back to your car. but i guess she will remember your car regardless of how you handle the situation |

I sympathize for you. Shit like this happens all the time. I have a huge ding on my driver's side front door that stands out after I polish my car.
On another situation, a big ugly SUV boxed me in. I was enraged at the idiot's parking job. So I opened the door and pressed as much as I could to get in my car. Later, I regretted it as I probably chipped off some of my corner paint... |

Happened to me 3X, and each time, I was able to do nothing.
imho people are sorely mistaken when they think they can file a police report, and sue the other party for pain and suffering. When I was younger, you could literally punch someone in the face if you felt they did you wrong. You can't really do that today, nor is it worth it. My wife is really careful with her 2011 and she just got her first ding right before Labor Day. My 335i is still mint (knock on wood), was PDR'd twice. |

in my wife's car at produce store... im waiting in passenger seat kids in back. lady parks next to us and opens her door soo hard it rocked our car. i yelled WTF and got out of the car... she said something like "so" , or "get over it".." thats what insurance is for" . i inspected my car and found no damage... i didnt take any action. My G35 and BMW both had damage within the first 1000 miles (rock thrown at hood and idiot person at work opening his door into mine). again no action take was unable to find parties responsible. motorcycle parking at the mall... 3 slots at the front door (3 bike slots fill in one car slot). I parked in the motorcycle slot that was closest to the opposite side.... i came out and a car had parked in the two remaining motorcycle slots. Right up to the side of my bike.... well when i got on my motorcycle my foot happened to catch the front license plate and broke it in half... oops. here's one thats brewing now... tree on corner of my property hanging over neighbors yard a 25' branch broke off last night and landed on his side of the chain link fence. on my side i recently planted 25 evergreens along the fence. the neighbor and i dont speak im an ashole and hes prob a redneck racist. I have no problems with taking care of the branch, helping him,etc but im not going on his property and im not speaking to him. if he tosses it over the fence and destroy my landscaping ... its going to ramp it to the next level... time will tell. ppp

I'm not sure if she did prison time, but she was arrested. She didn't have insurance, didn't have any money, and all her assets were in her ex-husband's name so there wasn't really anything I could sue her for. I ended up owing a bunch of medical bills out of pocket, actually.

I got a pretty decent scuff on my car when some dude doored it getting out of his car. He was super apologetic so it wasn't a big whoop. Just as long as they apologize, all good. If not, protect what you paid for and make them pay!

They come with those "green goo" kits because you have to remove the valve to pump in the spunk before filling the tire.

OP's story has happened identically to me twice in LA. I actually took it personally both times - this thread helps me realize we just live in a twisted world. I guess it could be worse though, door dings would be a dream problem to people in a lot of counties right now.
