No you are not...stock mufflers dont count...is it eluding you that the OP is using aftermarket mufflers ..

Nope im giving him an option to go fully catless and not drone.. And that would be the same setup he wants just not with the aftermarket mufflers.

did you do the golf tee mod also? if you didn't do the golf tee mod, then wouldn't the flow of exhaust gasses be uneven without an X pipe or an H pipe in the middle?

Hi OP,

I had a AE exhaust with the HFC in them and they weren't too bad. I then cut out the cats and do notice a very deep drone when the engine is below 2500 RPM.

If you keep the revs in 2800-3000 range, I don't think its much of an issue ... if you lug the motor, its pretty obnoxious inside.

I did the golf tee mod on my otherwise stock exhaust and it droned. I have no idea how you can be 6AT and catless and still claim no drone.

Ha..an AE exhaust..one of the few aftermarkets IMO that truly eliminate drone..Im running this catless w no drone..then again Im MT

I do get a little reverberation around 1800RPM but thats b/c I have a coupe and the rear center counsel acts as sonic chamber..a none issue if you have a sedan.

Even with the golf tee active, wouldnt matter, since i have no xpipe or H pipe, it wouldnt even out the gases anyways, its too far back.The valve opens at WOT anyways so it isnt by any means a good solution to even out the gases. X or H pipe has to be way further back into the ehxaust sysem to make any difference. There are a few exhausts out there with no x or h pipe, it comes down to sound difference.. Not much in the way of performance really.

I completely deleted the valve actuator when i installed my Dimisa tips.
Ive been thru alot of drone/exhausts and cars.This setup is droneless. Heck, my stock ML63 drones stock on the highway, my 335i has none lol. i almost want a lil.
