Does patch decrease track ability

Got a patch because of a nail on one tire. Would this cause me any problems on the track?? Maybe a flat?? Less performance??

some tracks say they wont let you on it if youve had a patched tire. rather that rule is inforced or not i am unsure.

I wouldn't run my car on a track with a patch.

Just my personal opinion without any scientific basis supporting it; I wouldn't. The tires get put under so much stress including high temps, I'd be very worried about the structural integrity of them which would, at the least, detract from my concentration on driving.
