Morning all, Im hoping someone can shed some light on my current problem. I have a 2008 e90 330d which has been stood for about 3 months it has been run during that time to keep the battery topped up. Now we have just started using the car again and its playing up! It keeps putting the wipers onto the first stage and constantly wipes with the key just inserted into the ignition switch. But if you turn the ignition on numerous warnings come up ABS, SRS ignition system and the speedo stops working along with the wiper stalk. Now the lights all work and the car runs ok and drives.

I read the faults from the DSC unit expecting the usual pump fault but it had only 2 faults one was just reported as internal error and the other overvoltage 18v+. DME had numerous communication faults with DSC. Now i assumed it was over charging as it was kicking out 15.2v with the engine running. so i replaced the alternator and as soon as i put the key in it started to throw faults without the engine running. so it kinda disproved my overcharging issue i suspected. I have checked around the battery, starter, fuse board etc and cant see any obvious faults. The battery was replaced about 18 months ago so i doubt its faulty but dont 100% know for sure yet. Now im lead to believe the battery sensor on the negative terminal is what it uses to know how much charge to demand from the alternator. Could it be possible i tell it the battery has been changed? Is there any common spot or water ingress areas to check?

Just an update for anyone concerned, I have traced the fault to my dsc unit failing. It's intermittently not waking up so it's putting all the warning on the dash and then if it does work I get abs on the dash and fault 5df5 which is internal control unit fault. I'm going to be sending the pump off to be repaired if possibly.
