Klasse AOI vs SG

I've been searching all the posts on this topic. Still I'm curious to get more feedback on the All-In-One vs the Sealant Glaze--i.e., which is the preferred product? I received my 330i new this last Tuesday, and I purchased AIO at the advise of the parts man. However, realizing this is a "polish," I'm wondering if this is superfluous or perhaps not a good idea on the "new" car. The SG product lasts longer and if I don't need to remove oxidation or soot, shouldn't I be using this?

I'm also wondering if I should be using Zaino on top of this?

I'm new to all these products as I come from the days of Rain Dance, Mothers Carnuba Wax, Kit Carnuba, etc.

AIO is a very mild polish, mainly a cleaner and sealant all-in-one. A similar OTC product would be Meguiars ColorX. I was looking into AIO myself and because I wanted something very mild. I ended up buying Meguiars #9 because I like to buy locally, I might also try ColorX or Mothers step 1 pre-wax cleaner. AIO is fine for your car, it is actually too mild to do any serious swirl correction. I would still top it off with SG or another sealer or wax since it will not protect well on its own. Let us know how it turns out. I still might get some AIO if I do not like the #9. Will you be using it by hand or PC?

Oh, Zaino willprobably not bond well to AIO, use SG if you have it instead.

AIO is a light chemial cleaner/polish and will not hurt your new car. if you plan to use SG, i recommend applying AIO first b/c it will provide a better base for SG to bond with.

I used it on my SG. I am very pleased with the results. I have also used it on several other vehicles and a boat.

It shouldn't be looked at as AIO vs SG, but AIO plus SG. I have been using this combination on my car for the past 5-6 years and have been very pleased with the results. The AIO is probably more of a cleaner polish in that it will clean the last bit of residue that you may have missed while washing the car, clear up minor swirls in the finish, and give a nice shiny finish. But, you should finish it off with SG to give it an even more impressive shine and give longevity to the finish.

I have been able to maintain my cars with a better than showroom quality shine under very harsh conditions with very little time invested. I use Klasse AIO and SG twice per year (once in spring and again in late fall). This was has proven its durabilty by protecting my car through the harsh winters (with road salt and all) of Boston and NYC.

Thank you all for the great advice. I went back to the local BMW dealership and purchased the SG as well. I will use the AIO first, then the SG. Since the AIO is so mild, I won't worry about using this on the "new" car. It's now raining in California, so the car is in the garage for me to play with.

Just did the trunk with the AIO first, and SG second by hand. Goes on and comes off very easily. The garage lights are certainly no match for sunlight (it's evening time here), but that part of the car looks brilliant, wet and shiny.

I like the fact that the All-in-One does not feel gritty like Kit, Turtle or other car waxes do. You're right. It's very mild.

Awesome, good to hear ksfrogman. I had ordered some AIO and SG from autopia.org when they had 25% off all their supplies. I based my decision on some of the threads here recomending a low maintenance sealant. I am still waiting for my car, so let me know how the rest of it turns out. You didn't want to try clay barring first?

I did not apply the SG to my E90. I have it, but I have only applied it to a friends STi and a boat. Not even the E30 M3 has SG on it. My 0.02, garage kept automobiles or garage queens do not need it. Also, what car wash soap you use also plays a rather large factor. If you polish/wax every six months then SG is a waste of time and effort.

Before someone makes a wise @ss comment, try it on a boat in extreme conditions for 6 months. It still holds up very well. I only added SG to my boat as it is only waxed every other boating season.

aphall, i just purchased clay, but have never used it before, and quite frankly, I'm not sure when it would really be appropriate to use it. I have had my car for only 4 days, so it seems pretty much immaculate.

SCA, my car will definitely be a garage queen, but that doesn't mean it won't occasionally get some uninvited tree sap, bird poop, road tar, bug kill, etc. My office parking area is outdoors, so on days I drive my car, it will be in the garage only half of the time.

I have used Carnuba waxes in the past, but don't like what they do to my plastic or rubber trim, cracks and crevices. I'm hoping I will be happy with these Klasses products and can use them exclusively. If my "waxing" is superfluous, so be it. It can't be hurting the vehicle, and it does make it look nice and shiny.

By the way, I took some blue painters masking tape and divided my front hood in half. I applied AIO then SG on the left side, and nothing on the right. I then peeled the tape off and compared. The treated side was slightly more slick and "clean looking," but honestly, it was difficult for me to tell without sunlight. Keep in mind that my vehicle is brand new.

I'm really curious to see how the AIO will last on a new automobile. I applied AIO 2.5 weeks ago and I have yet to wash the car nor has it been driven in the rain. I may reapply AIO in May and top it off with SG. We'll see...

I'm also interested in seeing how long it lasts. I've been out of the loop for a long time, but when I went to my local Pep Boys and Autozone, I was surprised to see no Dupont RainDance. That was the longest lasting wax I have ever used and would bead my water droplets like no other. It was a bit difficult to wipe off and would occasionally streak, but had incredible longevity. I wonder if that product is no longer available.

I just finished washing and drying the car off. With just the AIO applied it beads up incredibly and after drying her off she is still super slick.
