Any violation in construction zone = 2x, it's been that way for a long time. The signs before zones say that specifically (in small letters)

What CA Vehicle Code section addresses "incorrect lane change"? CVC sections 22348-22366 deal with speed limits. I don't see anything in there regarding a 3 MPH (or any other) grace. Where does that come from? I question the accuracy of all of the above since you don't post your source.

$1068.50 for a carpool violation?? Are you sure that's right?...the minimum has increased though to $371...
I just got a ticket for doing 80 mph on the freeway today...I guess I had it coming to me for using the carpool lanes those few times when I was by myself... http://www.commutesmart.info/employe...ternews107.pdf |

It's apparently the price to pay for living there. Taxes are out of control...state income taxes, sales and use tax, and personal property taxes (autos, real estate) is some of the highest in the nation when you look at them cumulatively. Also real estate is very expensive. I can't believe I'm moving back there

I could go on for hours how bad driving in CA is and I've lived here all my life. NorCal and SoCal. Don't even started about LA, no offense to anyone living there. I've driven the autobahn the last 2 years, and wow. I felt safer doing 110mph there than I did here doing 65mph. I think it really comes down to some very simple ideas:
1. No passing on the right. Right lane= Slow lane. 2. Get a ticket for impeding traffic in the fast lane. 3. Get your drivers license at 18 not 16. We all remember the stupid stuff we did when were 16. 4. Driving school takes a year. 5. People are taught how cars work mechanically at driving school to reduce the number of break downs on the freeway that could be avoided if people knew what to look for. 6. Decreased speed limits in construction zones 7. Get a DUI, lose your license for a yr. Do it a second time, lose it for up to 10yrs. 8. It's illegal to drive with damage on your vehicle. So no trying your bumper on with string or duct tape. Etc. Sorry for the rant. |
